Glee club practice on Monday:
"OK guys, we've got 2 weeks left until Nationals. We have to get prepared. Wait a minute, where's Scott?" Mr. Schue asked. "He's not here." Spencer said. "Where is he?" Jake said. "I'm not sure." Spencer replied. "He's gone." Kitty said crying. "What do you mean, he's gone?" Sugar said worriedly. "I found this note on his bed when I woke up this morning" Kitty explained:
Dear Kitty,
I'm taking a sabbatical this week. I will be back, but I don't know when yet. I have some unfinished business that I have to take care of. All I can say is that I love you and will miss you lots sis.
Hugs and Kisses,
Scott
P.S. Tell Marley & Sugar I love them as well.
Sugar began to sniffle. "Is he leaving us?" She asked. "No, he just said he's going on a sabbatical. He said he'd be back." Kitty said. "But he didn't say when. We need him for Nationals." Marley said, panicking. "Look guys, if Scott needed to take a sabbatical, then he must have had a very good reason; If we know Scott, and we love and trust him enough, he'll be back." Will stated. "In the meantime, we need to get prepared for Nationals. We'll worry about finalizing our set list next week, but this week, I'd like to discuss the lesson for all of you: "Soul". "Some people sing their hearts out, and they pour all of that into their singing." Will explained. "That's what I want you to do this week; In order to do that, I'd like you to select a song from one of the most legendary singers of all time: Rod Stewart; Your assignment this week is to pick a song from Rod Stewart and put your heart and soul into your singing." Will explained.
"Do we have some time for any performances today Mr. Schue?" Unique asked. "Sure Unique. Go right ahead." Will stated. Unique stood up and began to sing:There's a soul in the city
Watching over us tonight
There's a soul in the city
Saying everything's gonna be all rightBring over some of your old Motown records
We'll put the speakers in the window and we'll go
On the roof and listen to the Miracles
Echo to the alley down below
Let's dance together just for the night
Let's don't worry about the future or nothin' else
'Cause just like the music's sayin' you gotta take chances
Go ahead just do it and trust yourself
There's a soul in the city
Watching over us tonight
There's a soul in the city
Saying everything's gonna be all right
So bring over some of your old Motown records
We'll put the speakers in the window and we'll go
On the roof and listen to the Miracles
Echo to the alley down below
They wish us luck
But they think we're just dreaming
Let's prove them wrong baby
'Cause you know what luck is
Luck is believing you're lucky
That's all and showing just a little bit of faith
There's a soul in the city
Watching over us I swear
There's a soul in the city
There's a whole world waiting out there
Listen
I got plans for us
Playing like a skip on a record
Through my head all night long
But when we walk that darkened stairway
And step out on the roof
I know what we're feeling can't be wrong
Bring over some of your old Motown records
We'll put the speakers in the window and we'll go
On the roof and listen to the Miracles
Echo to the alley down below
Bring over some of your old Motown records
We'll put the speakers in the window and we'll go
On the roof and listen to the Miracles
Echo to the alley down below
Let the Temptations sing it one time
Bring over some of you old Motown records
We'll put the speakers in the window and we'll go
On the roof and listen to the Miracles
Echo to the alley down below
Bring over some of you old Motown records
We'll put the speakers in the window and we'll go
On the roof and listen to the Miracles
Echo to the alley down below
Bring over some of you old Motown records
We'll put the speakers in the window and we'll go
On the roof and listen to the Miracles
Echo to the alley down below
"Yeah!" The Glee club cheered and applauded Unique's performance. "Great job Unique." Will said. "Can I go today too, Mr. Schue?" Bree asked. "By all means." Will said. Bree stood up and began to sing:
Billy left his home with a dollar in his pocket and a head full of dreams.
He said somehow, some way, it's gotta get better than this.
Patti packed her bags, left a note for her momma, she was just seventeen,
There were tears in her eyes when she kissed her little sister goodbye.
They held each other tight as they drove on through the night they were so excited.
We got just one shot of life, let's take it while we're still not afraid.
Because life is so brief and time is a thief when you're undecided.
And like a fistful of sand, it can slip right through your hands.
Young hearts be free tonight. Time is on your side,
Don't let them put you down, don't let 'em push you around,
Don't let 'em ever change your point of view.
Paradise was closed so they headed for the coast in a blissful manner.
They took a two room apartment that was jumping every night of the week.
Happiness was found in each other's arms as expected, yeah
Billy pierced his ears, drove a pickup like a lunatic, ooh!
Young hearts be free tonight. Time is on your side,
Don't let them put you down, don't let 'em push you around,
Don't let 'em ever change your point of view.
Young hearts be free tonight.
Time is on your side.
Billy wrote a letter back home to Patti's parents tryin' to explain.
He said we're both real sorry that it had to turn out this way.
But there ain't no point in talking when there's nobody list'ning so we just ran away
Patti gave birth to a ten pound baby boy, yeah!
Young hearts be free tonight, time is on your side.
Young hearts be free tonight, time is on your side.
Young hearts be free tonight, time in on your side.
Young hearts gotta run free, be free, live free
Time is on, time is on your side
Time, time, time, time is on your side
Is on your side
Is on your side
Is on your side
Young heart be free tonight
Tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight, yeah
The Glee club applauded Bree's performance. "Nice job Bree." Will said. "Alright, we have time for one more performance today." "I'll go Mr. Schue." Jane said. "Take it away then." Will instructed. Jane stood up and began to sing:
I would have given you all of my heart
But there's someone who's torn it apart
And she's taken just all that I had
But if you want I'll try to love again
Baby, I'll try to love again but I know
The first cut is the deepest
Baby, I know the first cut is the deepest
When it come to being lucky she's cursed
When it come to loving me she's worst
I still want you by my side
Just to help me dry the tears that I've cried
And I'm sure gonna give you a try
And if you want I'll try to love again
Baby, I'll try to love again but I know
The first cut is the deepest
Baby, I know the first cut is the deepest
But when it come to being lucky she's cursed
When it come to loving me she's worst
I still want you by my side
Just to help me dry the tears that I've cried
But I'm sure gonna give you a try
'Cause if you want I'll try to love again
Baby, I'll try to love again but I know (woo!)
The first cut is the deepest
Baby, I know the first cut is the deepest
When it come to being lucky she's cursed
When it come to loving me she's worst
"Yeah!" The Glee club applauded and cheered Jane's performance. "Nicely done Jane." Will sated. With that, the bell rang. "OK, that's enough for today. More with Rod Stewart week tomorrow." Will instructed. Kitty walked out hand in hand with Marley, looking worried. "Are you o.k.?" Marley asked. "I don't know." Kitty replied. "I hope Scott's alright." Sugar said. "Me too." Kitty replied. "Me three." Marley said.So the Glee club's life lesson this week is soul, and they're doing Rod Stewart songs to practice it. Poor Kitty, Marley & Sugar though. That note from Scott really has them worried.
