RØRY
When Kay and I came into the living room, hand in hand and me in black skinny jeans instead of wet tracks, dad and pa are sitting on one couch and Bren and Matt on the other.
Brendon looks down at our hands and smiles brightly while Matt just nodded my way.
Kay was wheeling my suitcase behind him as I guided him into the armchair. He sits down first and I sit on top of him. I see my dad make a pissy face at us and swallow a gulp of beer.
Pa offers Kay a beer and he takes it.
"Why don't I get one?" I pout at my pa.
"Because you're not eighteen yet." Dad grumbles. He hands Brendon a Canadian Club because he was the only one not drinking, aside from me.
Brendon looks to Matt, Matt shakes his head and Brendon declines the alcohol. He gets a kiss on the cheek and a proud look from my uncle.
"Shit," Jayden cursed awkwardly. "Sorry, forgot." We all knew that Brendon was an alcoholic and we often didn't drink around him, especially recently when he had a relapse around the time of my accident. It was just one night when Matt was in a meeting and I was in hospital and there was three bottles of champagne in the fridge. Before that though, Brendon had been sober for twelve years.
He had felt so useless after he sobered up and I can remember him crying to Matt and saying such self deprecating stuff when they thought I was asleep in that hospital room.
"No problem," Brendon smiles cheerfully, but he fiddled with his fingers anxiously.
Kay shifts under me and I look at him strangely.
"Dads an alcoholic." He whispered just for me to hear. I would like it if he would be able to talk to my family, eventually. "I'm guessing he's recovering?"
Kay nodded towards Brendon.
"Five months sober," I confirm. Kay nodded and set his beer down, not touching it for the rest of the night.
I introduced Kay to my uncles, we all finished our drinks and then it was time to leave.
Brendon and Matt embrace my dads and shake Kay's hand before getting in the Lamborghini.
I hug my pa, saying good bye and the same with dad. They told me to stay safe and that they'll come see me on Sunday and that they'll miss me.
I really didn't want to go, but there was no choice.
Next was Kay.
I hug him tightly, enough to have him pushing me back slightly so he could breathe. I kiss Kay because I couldn't say goodbye, but I hoped that this told him.
Kay cups my cheek and brushed over my cheekbones.
He steps away and our lip break apart. Our foreheads are still together and he nudges my nose with his.
"I'm going to see you in three days, Pet." He says again, it sounded like he was speaking to himself more that me. "Three days."
"Three day." I could do that.
"I love you, Pet." Kay kisses my lips quickly.
"And I really fucking like you." I reply back.
I kiss him once more, hug my dads again and get into the back seat of my uncles Lamborghini.
The drive was full of Brendon quizzing me on Kay.
"When'd you meet him?"
"Grade seven."
"How long have you been going out."
"We aren't. Not officially."
"Is he rich? He was wearing Gucci."
"Yeah, he's pretty fucking loaded."
It was just questions like that, sometimes there were ones that would make me blush and others that would make me smile.
The drive itself was fine, there was no traffic and soon I was standing in the spare room of Brendon and Matt's penthouse apartment.
It was huge, a whole wall of windows to the opposite wall of the door. The other three walls were a soft cream colour and had art hanging off them. The bed was massive, an emperor size and dressed in gold silk sheets.
There was a fire place, bookshelf and walk in wardrobe.
It was amazing.
I FaceTime Danny as soon as I've put my stuff away. Was it strange that my best friend and 'boyfriend that wasn't really my boyfriend' were both mute? Of course, Kay chose to speak to Ethan and I but was silent to everyone else.
Danny picked up the face time after five rings.
"Hey!" I cheer at him. He's lying on a leather couch in a very nice looking room, behind him was a glass wall and beyond that was thick forest.
He waved at me and put the phone down to no doubt grab something to write with.
Danny shows me a note pad and has written hey there snow
Snow was his nick name for me, due to my hair. It was cute.
"You'll never guess where I am right now," I flip the camera to show Danny the view from my wall of windows. It looked over the whole of Brisbane City.
Danny's face splits into a grin at the view.
Where are you? He writes.
I fall onto the bed gracefully. "I'm at my uncles in the city. Kay's going to ask if you and Ethan want to come down on Saturday because I'm not coming back any time soon."
Just as I say this, Ethan comes out from the kitchen behind Danny, looking down at his phone.
"Hey, Doll." He says, scratching his bare chest. My eyes are blown wide as I realised, Danny isn't wearing a shirt either. "My brother wants to know if you wanna go see Snow on Saturday. He's in the city, apparently his parents shipped him off because of the police investigation. I don't know. Wanna go, Doll?"
I clear my voice and Ethan looks up, he looks shocked and than terrified.
"Shit," He curses. I smirk, knowing I wasn't supposed to know that these two were boning. "Look, Snow, This isn't what it looks like!"
I laugh out loud. "What's it supposed to look like? Cuz from here it looks like you two just had sex."
"No!" Ethan snaps. "It's not-" Ethan throws his phone onto the couch next to Danny, pulls a shirt on and snatches the phone from Danny. "Look, you Little Shit, I did not just bone Danny, okay? We are studying, partners for English."
I nodded, a smug smirk still on my lips and Ethan glares at me.
"Just..." Ethan let's out sigh. "Don't tell Kay what you thought you saw, okay? He'll kill me if he thought I was fucking a guy."
Something told me that Kay wouldn't mind the guy part but I just nod. Ethan sighs in relief and hands me back to Danny who had been waiting patiently.
We continue to talk with Ethan sometimes joining in from the kitchen where he was making dinner for the both of them.
I still didn't believe that there was nothing going on between them, because Danny has told me multiple times that there have been too many moments between the two for Ethan to be straight.
I don't bring it up again, though and Ethan comes down to sit next to Danny. Ethan translated Danny's sign language for me after his hands got sore from writing.
Later, when Ethan's gone to bed, I tell Danny about Kay and how we kissed and how he's in love with me. Danny, in turn, told me that Ethan was babying him, carrying him everywhere, showering with him, sharing a bed. Danny said that Ethan claimed it was platonic stuff and he wasn't going to push it because he didn't want Ethan getting scared and running away.
Soon, Brendon came I to my room and told me that they had ordered pizza for dinner and I had to hang up on Danny.
Things were going good.
