ITS BEEN ABOUT a few days since her nightmare, and neither have spoken that much since then, and they both could feel a pull to each other. And that's why, they were side to side, arms brushing each other, but not looking at each other as they walked. Well, Clarke would glance at her when she's not looking, and Hope would glance at him when he's not looking.

A few hours later of both of them sneaking glances at one another, but being too coward to speak to each other, they had came up to what looked like a lake. They couldn't see the full length of the source of water due to the darkness surrounding them, so they simply guessed it was a lake.

Hope opened her mouth to speak and Clarke was quick to pay attention her, his dark eyes following her lips as they moved. He has been stuck in his head for the past few days — or however long it's been — and it was killing him. He wanted her to talk to him, even if it's one word, or a snarky comment. He just wanted to listen to something that wasn't his own haunting thoughts.

"We should clean ourselves off and then try to find something to gather some water with," she told him quickly and wrapped her arms around herself. She didn't quite meet his eyes, his words playing in her head over and over again. "Maybe find some sort of food, too."

She didn't deserve to act like what has happened to her has only happened to her, like she has the worst of it all when other's have gone through worse.

Clarke opened his mouth, and was about to reply to her when she turned around and walked towards the lake. She slid off her jacket, revealing her pale arms. She got on her knees and leaned down closer to the water, and tested the water by placing a finger in it. It wasn't as cold as she thought it was going to be.

She cleared her throat and looked back at him. "Can you—?" She made a gesture with his hand, and he blushed deeply and cleared his throat before walking away.

Hope sighed and yanked off her boots, socks, pants, and shirt, only leaving her in her underwear. It might not be a good idea to get half naked in Malivore due to the fact monsters could show up at any time, but she needed to clean herself off. She only hoped that Clarke would find something to eat, even if it's just a handful of berries.

Slowly making her way into the lake, Hope let out a content sigh and just lowered herself down, the water going over her shoulders and then her head.

She sat down at the floor of the lake, and kept her eyes shut tightly, and stayed like that as long as she possibly could before slowly rising up to her feet.

Taking in a breath, she opened her eyes and then began cleaning out her hair. She began scrunching up her hair in her hands, and rubbing her hand up and down her arms and legs, just trying to make herself feel cleaner.

"Hey!" Clarke's voice yelled out and she quickly spun around to face him, sinking her body down into the water to the point it reached her chin. She looked up at him with big doe eyes and he froze, clearing his throat. "Sorry," he mumbled and then looked over his shoulder. "I couldn't find anything to hold water, but I found a blueberry bush. I—" He looked back over to her and narrowed his eyes at something over her head. "Get out," he told her but she only narrowed her eyes. "Get out!" He exclaimed and began running towards her. "Hope!" He shouted just as she turned around to look at what he was staring at.

"Son of a—" She let out a loud gasp when the large snake like thing's fangs dug into her right thigh, and dragged her below in the water, her arms flailing in the the air once before she disappeared completely.

Clarke froze, looking horrified at the water before running towards a huge rock, and pushed it into the water to distract the thing from Hope.

Hope surfaced again, gasping for air and kicking her arms in the water to get to the shore.

Clarke jumped in the water and helped her get out. He wrapped one of his arms around her waist, water mixed with blood surrounding them. They both kicked harshly against the water, and once they reached the shore, Clarke flung Hope onto it, and pulled himself out shortly after. He ended up falling onto her.

Hope's blue eyes stared into his dark ones, and they just stayed that way, breathing heavily, their breathes mixing together. She swallowed thickly as she felt his wet suit not only clinging to him, but to her half naked body as well. Her eyes widened and she looked down at herself which made him do the same thing.

"Oh, my god!" Clarke yelped out and stumbled back, away from her. His eyes were wide, his cheeks were dusted with pink, and his mouth was opening and closing like a fish. "I'm sorry!" He exclaimed and began stumbling over his words as she sat up and pulled her arms around her body.

"It — it's fine," she stuttered out and grabbed her clothes which wasn't that far from them, and covered her exposed body. She took in a deep breath and looked away from him. "Lizzie once accident saw me after I shifted. So, you're not the only one to..."

"Oh, yeah, that helps so much," he snarked back at her and she rose a single brow, and faced him. He had a scowl on his face and then smirked, his eyes sparkling under the moonlight. "I guess I'm your knight in shining armor."

She scoffed. "As if." She rolled her eyes and stood up, putting her clothes back on, trying to not blush under his gaze. Try is the key word.

"You're cute when you blush," he told her and approached her just as she buttoned up her pants, but she still didn't have her shirt on. She gulped as she met his intense gaze. "How about a thank you?" He whispered as he was only about a foot away, staring down at her.

"Thank you," she quietly told him which made him reel back in surprise. He hadn't expected her to actually thank him. "You saved my life, Clarke. I couldn't be more grateful." Without thinking, she stepped closer to him, rendering him speechless and frozen. She tippy-toed and pressed a kiss to his cheek before reeling back, her eyes going wide. "Sorry. I don't know why I—"

"It's fine, Hope," he told her softly and watched as she walked past him, blushing deeply, and flinging her shirt on. Her jacket and shoes still in her hands.

Clarke raised his hand up to his cheek and laid his fingers on the place she had kissed, and smiled. She kept surprising him and he couldn't find it in himself to hate her.

Truth me told, he never actually hated her to begin with. He was just jealous of everything she had. She had friends who loved her, and people who would do anything for her. He had none of that.

And he couldn't help himself but think that maybe Hope will be that for him.
