Harry:
You and Harry had been together for two and a half years. You two lived together, but you really wanted something more. You wanted to get married. You didn't care that you were young, you just wanted to make it official. Harry didn't think that way. Instead, he was really into taking things slow. You had only moved in together three months ago. Frustrated, you had kind of started drifting away from Harry. You felt like you related to Harry's best friend, Louis. He hadn't dated since he and Eleanor broke up and didn't bring many girls home. He talked to you often about commitment and how he wanted to settle down. Part of this was because he was older, but also it was in his personality. Harry asked you to go out for a nice dinner, and you were excited. You were sure this was the night. You decided to make it an old fashion date and got ready at a friend's flat who was out of town. You put on a cocktail dress and heels. You spent an hour doing your hair and made sure your make up was perfect. Harry came to the door and opened your car door, taking you to the restaurant. The dinner passed, and nothing happened. You ordered desert to make sure he had ample time to ask you, and nothing. You had never been so annoyed. You wouldn't speak to him in the car. "Y/N, you seem angry..." Harry said, stopped at a red light. He took your hand. "I thought you were going to ask me to marry you tonight" you said, staring out the window. "What's all this about marriage, Y/N? You think that because we're not married we aren't real. I told you I didn't want to rush and you can't respect that." "I don't want to be a thirty year old bride Harry. I want to marry you! Why don't you get that?" "You have a one track mind Y/N." "Yeah, and if you're not on the same track why are we trying?" you said, and you wished you could take it back. Harry sped up the car, and you were home quickly. You were devastated and, instead of going up to your flat, you stayed in the car. You were crying and hurt, and you knew who you wanted to call. You dialed and, hands shaking, you held the phone to your ear. "Hello, Y/N?" Louis says on the other line. "What are you doing? Can you come for me?" "Sure, I will come now." He responds quickly and hangs up. You end up going to Louis's flat. You two talk for hours about what had happened and why you were hurt. You talked about your dreams and hopes and why this was slowing them down. Louis understood completely and even took your side. It was getting late and you were ready to go home. "I think I should go, I'm sure Harry's waiting up for me and I don't want him to worry. I'm going to call a cab" you said, standing up. "I'll drive you home" Louis offers, and you accept. The ride is silent as he pulls up to your house. You're about to get out, but he grabs your wrist. "Y/N, you could do better. So much better. I can't believe I'm saying this but you deserve someone who wants to be with you for long term. You deserve a man, but Harry is just a boy. I'm a man, I'm ready to settle down." You were shocked. He was offering something you wanted so desperately. A great looking boyfriend who was ready to settle down and be with you. But he wasn't Harry, and you loved Harry. You had a life with him. "I'm sorry Louis, I can't do this to him" you said and you shut the door. You made your way to your door, and you could see Louis crying in the front seat. It broke your heart, but you wanted to make it work with Harry. You opened the door and all the lights were out except for the light glow of a candle in your bedroom. You heard shuffling, and you walked towards your bedroom. You could still see Louis's headlights shining through your front window, cause your shadow to form on the door. You pushed the door open, and revealed Harry. He was standing in front of your bed, and he pulled you in for a hug. You hugged him back and, on the wall, you saw the lights disappear. Then you looked down on your bed and you saw the words 'will you marry me?' written out in rose pedals. "I wanted it to be a surprise, I did it this morning after you left" he says, letting you pull away. You had tears streaming down your face. "Y/N," he says, getting down on one knee, "You're the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with. You are exactly what I look for in a girl and more. I would be honored if you would be my wife forever." He offers out the ring, and you nod, unable to say yes through the tears. As Harry put the ring on, you knew you made the right choice.
