Melody was waiting in the car, counting how many blue vehicles went by, not looking or talking to her parents. She knew talking to them would make the pain worse. She just listened to music the whole way. When they got to Greenwood, it looked amazing. It was definitely worth the 7-hour trip to get there. Melody went to get her things out of the boot when a tall man in a suit stopped her.
"I shall be taking your things to your dorm today. You are Room 451 in the First Year Dorm Sector." The man said, and took all of my bags away.
The same number. 451. Melody was sure there was nothing to it. Maybe it was just a huge coincidence.
"Mom! Why is there a man in a fucking tuxedo taking my suitcases away?!" I heard a voice yell from the other side. It was a boy my age with hair that was literally the colour red. It was a dark red though, so it was bearable. "Get back here luggage stealing bastard!"
The boy's mother started pulling him back to make sure he didn't charge at the suitcase man.
"Kai, please don't. You're going to embarrass yourself again." His mother said, obviously embarrassed by her son.
This 'Kai' was obviously the stupid and angry kind of kid. He won't be too fun to stick around with.Charlie wasn't at the school yet, so Melody had some spare time to say her goodbyes. It was going to be almost 3 months before she left for Christmas break. She didn't want to say goodbye to her parents, they had been with Melody for her whole life. She was going to miss them. She started looking as if she was about to cry.
"Hey kid, don't cry. It's three months and you're stuck with me again!" Melody's Mum started to laugh. "Remember to always smile!" Her mother gave her a big squeeze and stepped to the side.
"Melody, remember to do your very best here. After Christmas, you're going to stay at this school for 6 months. If you feel lonely, you can always give us a call; unless I'm busy at work again." Melody's father hugged her then walked back into the car. Well, it was more like rolling in. The car was a bit small for him so he had to squeeze in.
Both of her parents waved her goodbye as they drove off. Melody was actually quite happy after all that. At least their goodbyes weren't straight out of a sob story."Melly!"
"Hey Charlie."
"Which room are you?"
"Number 451"
"Aw man, I'm 410."
So your dorm definitely is not related to your audition number. So the number 451 was just a coincidence."Anyways, have you heard?" Charlie said this sentence with excitement.
"What is it?"
"Famous Arabian teen actor Kalila Moghadam is coming to this school!"Melody had heard about Kalila. She has starred is many famous and iconic movies. She was the antagonist in Melody's favourite movie, Starships. Kalila was also described as the most beautiful human being eyes will ever see. Now it was time to find out. People started gathering outside from inside the school. One girl was wearing Kalila's merch and was sporting a hat that said 'GO KALILA'. Melody wondered where she got that hat when a limo came by. One of the men in suits came over and waited for Kalila to come out so he could take her luggage. Kalila came out the limo.
"Hello Greenwood! I'm so happy to be here!" Kalila exclaimed when she came out.
The whole crowd started screaming. She took off her sunglasses. Melody was amazed by her looks. She was what people said. She was the living, breathing definition of Arabian beauty. Melody just couldn't stop staring.
"She's looks nice but is slightly self-centred and a bit rude, but she has a good heart. She just hides it by being mean to others."
Melody quickly turned around to see where the voice was coming from. It was a girl with warm-ivory coloured skin, dark brown eyes, black hair and a little mole to the left side of her mouth. She wasn't in school uniform either so she was also new.
"How do you know that?" Melody asked, confused about what the girl just said.
"By looking at her eyes. You can learn a lot about a person through their eyes. Like Shakespeare said, the eyes are the window to the soul." The girl replied. "By the way, I'm Maggiore, but you can call me Maggie!" She tied her hair up in a red scrunchy and then held out her hand.
Melody shook her hand back.
"If you can learn about somebody through their eyes, then what is my favourite food?" Melody asked this knowing that there was no possible way she would get this.
"Your fave food is naga pork curry. You like to add a lot of pepper into it, but pepper makes you sneeze too much."
Melody had to think of another question.
"My first pet?"
"Not pet. Pets. Chip and Dale, hamsters you got for your 5th birthday. You were devastated when Dale died and Chip died soon after. You then got a dog called Daisy."
Melody had nothing to say. How could somebody know so much just by looking at somebody's eyes?
"Okay then, let's go into the hallway and see if you can learn about some of the boys. Charlie, you coming?"
"Yeah Melly, coming."
They walked towards the hallway (after asking for directions for the hundredth time). Melody told Charlie about what Maggie could do and he asked if she could learn about his personality.
"Okay Maggie, when you're ready." Charlie said, and kept his eyes open.
"Okay. Well you seem like the stubborn, but determined type. You're very loyal and like playing cricket and B-ball. You'd never give up and you're always there in someone's time of need. You're also fun to be around."
"Woah, Melly, did you like, hear that?! That's so cool Mags!"
"Thank you."
They finally got to the main hallway. From what the trio could see, the school was pretty boy heavy. Maggie started looking for somebody to 'eye-read'.
"See the boy with brown skins and dark brown hair? No Charlie, not him this one. He's the flirty and extroverted type of guy. He's popular and had many friends so he's never lonely. Most of the time he's just a chill person in general." Maggie finished her sentence and then quickly looked for another guy to eye-read.
"You see him? No Charlie, not that guy; I just did him. Over here. This guy is kind of a jerk and a mean person all around. He's Student Council, so he's of higher rank of everybody. This fact makes him egotistical. He's basically that kid who's nice until the teachers are gone." Maggie waited for Melody and Charlie to respond.
"That's good to know. We'll make sure to avoid him." Melody said before putting her earphones back on.
"Glad I was helpful." Maggie responded, before smiling at Melody.
Maggie's teeth were a pearly white. Once Melody paid close attention, everybody at this school was unique AND good looking. Compared to the rest of the school, Melody looked like a goblin in a room full dashing knights and dazzling princesses. So she came to a decision. Tomorrow she was getting a makeover. Thanks for reading! 💖
