Auro Of Mount Ocean. Book 1 : The Infamous Trio

Prologue

It was a cold midnight in NovaGrad. Three young adults were walking along the canal. Auro, Arena and Kim were on their way home to Mount Ocean from a task set by Arena. Suddenly from the shadows of the alleyways and the canal appeared NovaGrad bandits. Auro and Kim instantly drew their weapons. Arena wasn't much of a fighter and her hands were full with a heavy basket.
Six bandits with spiked bats and daggers surrounded them. Auro told Kim "try not to kill them, they seem young and inexperienced." Kim replied "Don't underestimate them!" Auro stepped in front of Arena to confront the nearest three bandits. Kim got attacked first but side stepped the attack and drew three of the bandits away from Auro and Arena.
Auro with a small shield on his left arm and a short sword in his right hand, began parrying a couple of the bandits strikes. Auro at the age of 20 has been training with sword and shield for nearly 10 years. Kim on the other hand fights with two daggers and throwing knives, a skill from her home land Ryo-Kun.
The bandits weren't a challenge for Auro but he became overconfident and lost his balance from a powerful strike by one of the bandits.
The three bandits pounced at the opening but with quick maneuvering and good reading of the bandits strikes, Auro regained his balance. He started countering their attacks and dealing good blows to the bandits and became emersed in the battle.

Whilst Auro and Kim were preoccupied with the bandits, A seventh bandit appeared, stabbed Arena in the side and ran off with the basket.
Time nearly froze as Auro witnessed the unthinkable, that Arena would be harmed under his protection.
This enraged Auro to the point of no remorse and growled at the bandits "Kill them all! "
Kim, without hesitation leaped at her nearest two bandits and slit their throats. The remaining bandit fell to the floor in fear but Kim showed no mercy and finished him off. She got a glance of Arena, who guested to her to get the basket and so the hunt for Arena's basket began.
Auro striked fear into his bandits and caused them to retreat but he swiftly moved to cut them down. He left them to bleed out and silently rejoiced in their painful cries.
Auro heared among the cries Arena's voice and immediately ran to her aid.
The blood had seeped through her clothes but she told him it was just a small stab wound.
With Arena in his arms and tears in his eyes, he hastily made his way home.
