Auro Of Mount Ocean. Book 1 : The Infamous Trio

Chapter 1 How It Began

The morning of the ambush, the day started different to his daily routine.
Firstly, he over-slept and Kim was in his bed, probably because there was a storm the night before. She was fast asleep but held Auro tightly. Auro's dad, Dante, knocked at the window shutter to wake Auro up. This was the realization that he over-slept.

Auro tried getting up but Kim held him down. He was in two minds, one wanted to get up and help his dad but the other wanted to stay in bed.
He looked at Kim and noticed that her face hasn't aged since she became his adopted sister.

Seven years ago, It was a stormy night with plenty of rain and thunder. Arena and her mother, Mary, was invited for supper by Dante and to stay the night till the storm passes.
Arena and Auro were close friends already dispite only knowing each other for a few weeks. Arena was busy helping her mother with a drinkable medicine. She wanted to look at the farm for any possible ingredients since there was nothing else to do. The two snuck out from Auro's bedroom window and made their way to the back.

Arena went through each section of the farm mumbling words to herself.
Once they reached the small shed at the back of the farm, they both heard farm tools falling within the shed. Auro went to check what it could be. As he reached for the door, his body tensed up in effort to warn him. Auro ,now prepared for an attack, swung the door open and ducked as pitch fork passed his face. Auro looked up and saw a terrified and confused girl breathing extremely fast. Arena tried to calm her down but she crawled as far back as she could before realising that Arena was not a threat. Arena asked what her name was, she replied "I'm Kim" and then passed out seconds later.

Arena rolled Kim on to her side and checked if she was still breathing or had any wounds. The two carried Kim to the house. Dante and Mary were talking and laughing with each other but was interrupted by the kids barging through the back door with an unconscious girl. Auro laid her down on the couch whilst Arena brought a jug of water to Kim. Mary helped Arena examine Kim's body but allowed Arena to give the final analysis. For a few minutes it was silent as Arena sat next to the sleeping Kim, everyone waited for her to stay something. Arena turned and told her mother "she fell unconscious due to extreme stress" . Mary smiled and replied"well done". Dante told them she should sleep in the spare room till they learned more about her situation.

That happened 7 years ago and now she is part of the Ocean Family and probably one of the reasons why she is afraid of storms. "Oh you're up" Kim spoke to Auro while staring with her huge dark eyes "What's on your mind? " Auro replied "Oh nothing" and got out of bed, getting himself ready for the day. "Shouldn't you be at the docks already?" "No" replied Kim "I worked night shift yesterday. So I got the day off."
Auro,"Say, what's your thoughts on a hunt similar to the ones we had when we were younger?"Kim, "Just me and... "Auro interrupted her before she could finish. "I should ask Arena as well." Kim just sat there and watched Auro pace around talking to himself about plans. Auro grabbed his coat, sword and left for Arena's house.
Kim watched from the window as Auro ran up to Arena, who was on her way to one of the elders. Auro was so excited to see her.

Later that Afternoon Kim joined Auro and Arena, who were having lunch under a tree together. Auro brought up the topic with Arena. Arena agreed that it had been a while since they had a hunt but they don't need any supplies or the training anymore. Auro's head immediately sunk but then Arena suggested an adventure instead. Auro looked at Kim to see her answer. Kim scratched her head and said "Fine as long as there is something we might learn from this adventure."Arena rised and said" Great, so it's settled " Auro's face beemed with a smile and Kim nodded. Arena " Then we will meet at your house just before dusk, so you better complete all your work before then. "Auro, jumping to his feet, Thanked Arena for the meal and ran off to the citadel to complete his remaining work. Kim help Arena pack up her things, Arena" You have been acting wierd lately, Especially around Auro. " Kim shrugged off her words and said "Yeah, Something is different but I don't know what it is that changed." Arena "well then maybe on the adventure you will discover what it is." Arena gave her a smile before making her way home.
