TOGETHER AGAIN~ Chapter 10
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zac Point Of View:
I watched Mia leave, holding her bike with one hand and the other dragging her school bag which clearly you can tell was filled with heavy school books. If this was Mia a year ago she would have never yelled at me like that. She usually yells when she’s really angry, upset or hurt. But she was never like this, ever. I feel so damn guilty that I hurt her. How could I have been so stupid to not leave her a letter or message that I was leaving unexpectedly? I had no time, that moment my manager rang my doorbell, I couldn’t think straight, the whole time I was packing my bags, I was thinking of how to tell her that I was leaving. Before I could write a letter to her I was already dragged into the car.
I never would have thought in my whole entire life that I would hurt Mia. She was too nice and innocent to hurt. She always put everyone else before herself, and I’m an idiot to have left her, when she was there for me. I wasn’t there when her mother died to help her through her grief, I wasn’t there to protect her when she had a hard time at school, and I wasn’t there to tell her I’ll always be there for her no matter what especially when her father left her.
A year ago I would have considered being the luckiest guy having a loving family, a home, and a beautiful girl to call my best friend and be there for me no matter what. I’m actually regretting leaving her a year ago, was it all worth it? I’m an idiot and I think I’ll be calling myself an idiot until the day I make it up to her.
I walked back to my car, when I looked up to my car there was about 10 girls surrounding it with pens and papers in their hand knowing they wanted my autograph. You think I’m in the most famous boy band that the whole entire world would be surrounding me right now, but my town is pretty small, and no one really knows this is my hometown, everyone thinks I’m living in L.A because my manager told the press that’s where I’ll be staying.
When I see bunch of fans I usually feel happy and proud. Making all these girls come up to me, the boys and I would usually make a bet who can get the most girls to ask for our autographs, but I just didn’t feel anything. I felt empty right now. All I can think of is Mia. I can’t stay here knowing I’m not even friends with my best friend. I’m not even consider a friend or person to who her, I’m consider as a nobody to her. I have to make it up to her; I have to win her over. I won’t stop at anything to get my best friend back.
I woke up the next knowing that this is going to be a new day and I need a plan to get her back. I looked around my room to find some idea’s I can use. I looked in my old closet and found a box. It said “Memories” I opened the box and found so many things that I have forgotten about.
I picked up an album and noticed a photo. It’s a picture of me and Mia on her 5 birthday and I was holding a rose for her. I remembered that day. I told my mum that I wanted to get her a something with the money I saved up and that was $10. I remembered that everything I wanted to get was too expensive and the only thing I could afford was a flower from the florist store. I remember seeing that one flower sitting in middle of the store by itself and knew that it was Mia’s Rose. So I bought that flower and gave it to her at her birthday. She was so happy, she loved my gift and gave me a kiss on the cheek as a thank you. I remembered my heart was racing, hoping, she would like my gift. This is perfect! This is how I can get her back, I thought.
I drove to the florist store and went in the store. I noticed there weren’t any roses around. I went up to the counter and found an old lady. She has white hair and blue eyes. She looked at me and smiled. I stopped at the counter and looked at the lady; she didn’t say anything but just kept smiling. Okay this is a little awkward, why is she smiling at me like that.
So I thought I’d break the awkward silent “Umm Hello” I said. The old lady had a name tag on her shirt that said Greta. She didn’t say anything but kept smiling. Okay now this is getting a little creepy. Maybe she’s a fan of the band. How weird would it be having 50 year old lady, fan girl over teenage boys. Maybe I should leave, I couldn’t see any roses around so she must not have any, and I have no time to waste.
So I walked towards the door then I heard someone call out my name. I looked back to see if there is anyone but I couldn’t see anyone. I might just be hearing things. So I continued walking.
“Zac dear” I looked back and saw Greta smiling at me.
“Yes” I replied looking at Greta.
“Come here so I can see how much you’ve grown,” waved the old lady.
I walked back to the counter were Greta was waiting,” I don’t want to sound rude but do I know you?”
Greta started laughing, “Oh dear, you don’t remember me?” she said.
“Sorry I don’t,” I replied feeling uneasy about where this is going.
“Well I served you that rose when you were a little boy, you said it was for someone special,” she said.
I tried remembering back to that day and I remembered a lady serving me but not an old lady. It’s been 13 years since I left this store and never came back. She must have aged and I didn’t realise it was her.
“Oh now I remember you, wow you’ve changed a lot over the years,” I smiled.
She laughed and said “I think I can say the same thing to you, so what brings you here my dear, did you end up giving that rose to that special girl you told me about?”
I smiled, "Yes I did and she loved it, I actually came here to buy a bunch of roses for that special someone.”
She smiled and told me to wait here. She went inside the back room and came back with a bunch of roses. They looked amazing.
“Here you go my dear, I leave them in the back room because I knew that one day someone is going to come for these beautiful roses,” she smiled and handed me the roses.
“Thank you so much Greta, this means a lot,” I said taking the flowers.
“Well I’m glad to help and I know this special girl will love the flowers because I remember getting flowers from the man I love and it was the most happiest day of my life,” she said.
I thought about what she said. I don’t love Mia in the way her man loved her though, “Thank you but the girl I’m giving the roses to isn’t the love of my life,”
“You must be patient my dear, you’ll soon understand what I mean,” she said. She walked back inside her room and left me there standing very confused. I thought about what she said maybe it was just some weird saying so I left it and walked back to the car.
