"I am not staying in the infirmary for one more day!"

Will frowned. "Aw, come on, Nico. You can't leave yet. You're not healthy! It's cold out, you barely eat, and you keep trying to do all that Underworld-y stuff! You have to stay here until you're better."

"Will. I've been here for days. Do you know many how many times you've checked me into the infirmary only this month? Yeah, I've lost count. Staying here is driving me crazy. I have better things to do!"

Not impressed by the younger boy's argument, Will clucked his tongue. "Sorry, Nico. I doubt you have anything better to do besides recover."

Nico slammed his hand against the wall, letting out a frustrated scream.

"Hey, do you want me to mark you down for violent behav--"

"Solace! I am not sick! I will not stay here any longer!" Besides, Nico was getting awfully tired of wearing a hospital gown.

The dark haired boy jumped off the hospital bed, lunging for the black skinny jeans lying on the chair next to him. Before Will could question what was going on, Nico had pulled the pants on under the uncomfortable gown.

It took Will a second to figure out what was going on. "Nico! What in Hades do you think you're doing?!"

"I'm sorry, Will," said Nico, a somewhat crazed look in his eyes, "but I can't stay here any longer." He dashed towards the door, knocking over bottles of pills.

"Nico! Stop! What are you--"

The boy had already made it out the door.

Clumsily, the older boy chased after the escaped patient. "Stop!" he shouted, as soon as he made it out of the door. Cold air hit his face. "Nico, stop! You're only wearing a paper gown and jeans! You don't have a coat! Nico, you're going to get even more sick! Nico!"

Nico was barely in sight now.

And wait.

Was he running in the snow... Barefoot?

"Nico, this is not acceptable! You can't do this!" Will screeched. He ran ruthlessly towards Nico, not even noticing the people starting to stare at him.

Nico, too frantic to even shadow travel, didn't dare to look back. In fact, he barely bothered to look in front of him.

A sudden thump and crack rang out, loud enough that Will, still trying to catch up to Nico, could hear it.

Confused, the son of Apollo pushed himself to run a little faster since his escapee was now out of sight.

"Where are you?" Will shouted, when he abruptly stopped sprinting through the snow dusted grass.

There, in a helpless heap, laid Nico di Angelo, moaning in his hospital gown and jeans. And bare feet.

"What happened?!" asked Will, bending down next to the fallen boy.

The son of Hades let out another groan. "Icy... S-slipped..." He grimaced.

Inspecting Nico's leg, a smile started to tug at Will's lips. "Unfortunately," he said, trying to hold back a laugh, "I think you may have sprained your ankle."

Even crumpled on the ground, Nico snapped his head up, a ghostly look spreading across his face. "No," he whispered.

"Because of this sprain, you will need medical attention."

"No, Will, I'm fine! I promise!" Nico looked utterly fearful.

Will's eyes flashed as he beamed proudly. "Guess you have to stay in the infirmary again."

Nico, his hands shaking, the pain in his ankle ignored, let out a blur of panic-stricken protests. But it was too late. Will already had Nico scooped in his arms, caring him back to the infirmary.
