I was getting ready for my big day. I decided to wear my white jumpsuit with pink top inside of it and cream headscarf. Am I nervous? Yes, I do but I am more excited for today. This is only the beginning of my life. One more look at the mirror before I go to the kitchen. I smiled at myself.

"Good morning mama, dad" I greeted as I join them together for breakfast at the kitchen.

"Morning sweetheart" mom smile while pouring tea for dad.

After I finished my high school back in Malaysia, dad decided to go back in Seattle. We moved back last year in December. Mom has retired a year ago but dad still working in his company. Today I'll start my journey as a "campus student" at University of Washington.

"Morning nerd, ma n dad"

I spin around to see my brother with goofy smile plastered on his face.

"Morning Ryan" I rolled my eyes at him and continue eat my sandwich.

"Are you excited for today nerd ?" he took a seat beside me. Pouring the tea in his cup then he turn to me with a cocking his right eyebrow.

"Of course! I get to meet Lauren since I didn't seen her for a long time and maybe I could make some new friends ? " I grinned

"Sofia, take care of yourself dear" mama said as she hug me

"Okay ma" I laugh and give her a kiss on her cheeks. "Take care my baby girl" dad hugged me and peck me on my forehead. I smiled at him and nodded my head.

Pin! Pin!

That honk car make me jumped from dad's hug. I turn around to see Ryan laughing in his car. Okay, he find out it's funny to see me startled. He jogged outside to give mama and dad kiss and hug. I elbowed him on his stomach and he make the 'ouch' face.

"Assalamualaikum" both me and Ryan said before we make our way towards his car.

On our way to my uni, as a good brother, Ryan gave me some advice before I started my day as a campus student. He told me to stay away from the hottie boys because he said i might can't handle another heartbreak. I laughed and shake my head. My brother loves to crack jokes at me and I didn't mad about it. Just annoyed 😜 Oh, I forgot to tell something about my brother, he's two years older than me and studied at Harvard University. This year is going to be his second semester.

Without realizing, we have arrived at my campus. I turn to Ryan, "bye Ryan and thanks for driving me here" I hugged him tightly.

"Bye nerd. Ooh and don't forget to meet some cute boy out there huh" he winked at me and drive away after he said that. I watch his car until his car no longer in my sight. I remembered what he said and I laughed. Again.

I search for my phone in my backpack to call Lauren as we promised to meet yesterday. I dialed her number and she ask me to wait for her at the car park. I sat on the near bench while waiting for her.

Ten minutes later...

"BOO!"

I spun around and meet the beautiful brunette girl looking at me like she want to dig in into me anytime.

"Lauren!!!"

We screamed and hug each other. Yup, we just met by today because she'd been travelling on this whole holiday with her family and i didn't have a chance to meet her. We've been bestfriend since diaper also both of our mom were nurse and bestfriend too. Cute isn't? Lucky me. She looked at me and make an 'aww face'

"Sofi, you've grown so much. Look at you! You're so beautiful! Way more beautiful. Still the same Sofia I knew, beauty with brain" she faked cry as she busy ogling me. I slap her arm because she couldn't stop commenting my looks since she knew me decided to wore hijab (headscarf).

We make our way inside the building. We kept talking while we were walking and I didn't notice someone in front of me until I bump into his/her and accidentally spilt his coffee on his shirt.

"Oh my, I'm so sorry " I looked up to see a jaw clenched guy looking at me. His eyes made contact with mine. I break the eye contacts so I look at the tiles. Oh no, what did I do on my first day?

I gulp.
