Layla sat there with the creature on her lap until the sun came up. She was too afraid to do anything else, for she had no idea how the creature would react if it was woken up.

She looked down, and with the help of the sunlight streaming into the cave, she was able to confirm that it was indeed a wolf with sable fur sleeping on her.

But she couldn't make herself believe that the tales about the sable furred wolf was true. Even with the evidence right in front of her, she denied it. She chose to believe that this was just some other wolf that she had never seen before- one that seemed to like her.

She bit her lip as she struggled to convince herself of the belief that she so wanted to be true. But her doubts crept into her mind, and she thought: this is the first silver wolf I have ever seen. I have seen red ones, grey ones, black ones, even sand colored ones, but never a silver one...

She shook her head firmly at the thought, pushing it away. No! she thought to herself, there is no such thing as a silver wolf that kills what it sees, may it be human or animal!

And at that, she brightened. There was her proof! The wolf hadn't killed her or even harmed her. It didn't leave her alone like most wolves did to humans, but she hadn't been hurt in any way. So this one couldn't be the one in those tall tales!

She mentally patted herself on the back, but her small victory didn't last long.

The sound of a soft snort and the sudden opening of the wolf's eyes made Layla scream and shove it's head away. It growled as she backed up quickly towards the entrance of the cave, adrenaline rushing through her like a waterfall. Her fervent prayer could be heard quite clearly as she tried to escape.

But her escape was futile, for the wolf merely leapt on top of her and pinned her to the ground. She froze, but she looked up and screamed again, this time louder than the first as she tried to get away.

For a man had replaced the wolf in the split second of the leap that was made.

That was probably really short, since I did this on my phone. But at least I updated!
