I walked out of the hospital sobbing. I was so hurt, scared, and I was so worried. I don't even get how you can have life threatening injuries from a hot boiling pan and grits. She must've hit him extremely hard, with an extremely hot pan. As I reached for the car door my aunt Carlen stopped me.

There is just no way I can focus on school, while I know that my parents are not at home waiting for me to get back.

I understand, replied aunt Carlen. I really do. My mom and dad both left willingly tho is the only difference.

Really? I asked. My mom never talked much about your parents. All she said was that she knew that they loved y'all. If only, my aunt Carlen snarled. The reason they left us is because of our dad.

Sorry I get it from my moms, I said laughing. As my aunt Carlen pulled out of the driveway my phone started to ring. I looked down to see it was a collective call.

I think it's mom! I yelled at my aunt Carlen. Answer it! She yelled back excited. I answered the phone and waited for the machine to stop talking.

Calm down cilia, my mom said laughing. I haven't even been here for 24 hours. So where are you? I asked. I'm in a holding cell for now, I gotta wait a whole 24 hours until they could take me to the real jail.
