A couple hours later, I was still taking orders, but this time for midday. I was alternating between the tables, the kitchen, and Dian's desk. It went kind of like this;
"I'll tell the kitchen," I told the family with a smile.
"I NEED THREE OF THOSE SOUPS!" I yelled In the kitchen, trying to be heard of the clamor.
"Please please please PLEASE?" I begged Dian.
"Get on to you're next table!" she growled at me.
I sighed and continued the cycle until I found an opening.
A maid with the later shift came in while Dian was in the kitchen, back turned, probably yelling at the kitchen maids. My eyes lit up at my plan.
"Luicia!" I ran over to her. "Could you do the orders for a bit? Dian wanted me to run some errands."
"Sure." Luicia agreed. "Don't take too long, though."
I nodded and raced upstairs, grabbed my skates, a glove for my left hand, and cloak, and ran back down and out the door.
As soon as the door clanged closed behind me, I relaxed and breathed in the icy air. Leaning on a wall, I strapped on my skates and zipped down the ice streets
