Here's a short reminder of how the last chapter ended.
Hisa didn't look away from the mask she was studying. "My mask needs to be fixed." She pulled out pieces of fabric from her back pocket. She then walked over to Uta and handed it to him.
"Again?" He asked. "I'm going to have to start raising the price for you, with the number of times you break it."
Hisa chuckled lightly. "I figured you might say that, so I am going to pay you the regular amount, plus some information."
"Oh?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Uta arranged the destroyed pieces of mask in the position in which he would have to sew it back together, and Hisa started to tell him the information she had.
"Your... cronies are attacking again."
"My cronies? I do not have 'cronies' Hajime-chan." Uta said in a monotone.
Hisa sighed, "You know what I mean, the ones who are in your little group. Or were, you kicked them out, I believe, but they still say that they are apart of the Clowns. Which is your group, is it not?"
Uta continued to work on the mask, "Yes, I am in charge of the Clowns, and you know that very well Hajime-chan, but once I make them leave, I don't clean up after their mistakes."
"Well, their mistakes are going to wind up giving you more messes."
"How do you mean?"
Hisa walked to Uta, dragging a hand on a worktable as she did, "They go around, making messes, causing chaos, in your name. They say that they are doing what, and these are their exact words, 'The notorious No-face would want them to do.' They are ruining your reputation, and all while thinking that they are supporting it. They need to be stopped."
Uta turned around at the mention of his reputation, "Why do you care so much Hisa, last I recall, you hated me, and the Clowns. So why do you care?"
His voice sent chills down down Hisa's spine, not one of pleasure, but one of fear. If there was ever someone who could defeat her with one hand behind their back, it was Uta, and that scared her - although she would never let him know.
Hisa took in a deep breath, calming herself, as to not show Uta how easy he was able to scare her. "I never said I hated you guys, I said that I despise you, there's a difference."
Uta shrugged.
He's back to this again. Well, at least he's done with his serious persona. Hopefully.
"I also said that in a fit of rage. But that's not the point, the point is that people are out ruining your reputation, making you seem weak, and making others plot against you. I just thought you would like to know." continued Hisa.
Uta nodded, "Do you have any idea who these so-called 'reputation-ruiners' are named?"
"I know the names of a few. The main conspirators are a small group called the Wasps. There's Hiro and Jiro Hackosha, they're twins who are the brains of the Wasps basically. There's Ako Nerio, who's a little, um, out there, shall we say. He seems to hate you the most. The last name I know is Mae Rao, she's the most dangerous one of the whole group, I would definitely watch out for her. She has excellent sight ability too. There's about maybe 5-8 more that I don't know the names of."
Uta stood up and looked Hisa directly in the eyes, "I have a proposition for you."
What in the world could he be thinking? He doesn't want me to do his dirty work on the Wasps for him, does he?
Hisa looked him in the eyes back, not breaking away for one second, "Hm. I'm interested, go on."
Uta continued, "I want you to eradicate the Wasps and the ones who started this mess."
Knew it.
Hisa glared into his eyes, not backing down until he does first, "In exchange for what? I don't exactly go around killing people for free."
"I will make you a new mask, free of charge."
"Heh, that's not enough, you dipshit. You of all people should know that."
"I also have an informant in the CCG that you could get information from."
Hisa perked up, that informant could be exactly what I need!
"Alright then, in exchange for a free mask and an informant from whom I can get whatever information I want, whenever I want, I will eradicate the Wasps and pests." Hisa stuck out her hand to close the deal.
Uta took her hand, and with a single firm shake, started a new chapter that would change the course of many events yet to come.
"Deal."
Hello guys! How are you? Sorry, I didn't update when I said I would, I got sick and had to do school, bleh. I very much despise school. I am happy that I found this time to write though! I am very proud of how this chapter turned out, and how the story is turning out! (to be honest with you all, I'm just kind of spit-balling now. I mean, I got a general idea of how I want the story to go, but how to get where I want it to go is the trouble. But that's fine! It's not that bad so far.) I have no clue when I will update next, but I am hoping that it will be sometime next week.
