"Now slow down you two! Where's the fire? I don't normally see you two run around this quickly unless you're both late for school." Sandra exclaimed, looking rather confused. The two didn't have school today since it was the weekend, but she didn't understand why they were in a rush, Ophelia's father wasn't picking her up until later this afternoon.

"Sorry Ma, there's just something we really want to do today. Which is why we're hurrying." Strip blurted out, slamming on his breaks. He gave his mother a nervous smile, turning around to see what was taking his friend forever.

"You ready to go or what, Lia?"

Ophelia came speeding down the hallway, slamming on her owns breaks. She was just inches away from crashing into Strip and his mother, she felt like an actual fool. There was a time where she had actually crashed into Strip, but that was when they were younger. "Y-yeah, sorry for keeping you waiting."

"Be careful you two, I don't want either one of you getting hurt. I don't know what you two have planned, but please just be careful." The older car sighed, knowing whatever the two had planned wouldn't be good. "And be back before noon, no later."

Strip nodded, driving towards the front door. "Okay! Bye Ma, we'll be home by noon!"

Ophelia said goodbye to Strip's mother, speeding out after her friend who had sped ahead. Once Strip was keen on something, there was no way of stopping. He sure did have the potential of becoming a race car, if only he others believed that like Ophelia did.

"What about here? Is this far enough from home?" Ophelia panted, the two had driven at least an hour away from home. They had stumbled across a huge clearing, it was the perfect place to practice.

Both cars looked at each other, getting excited as they lined up beside each other. Both taking a deep breath in as they viewed the scenery, the gorgeous blue sky, the thick forestry that hid them from the world. It felt as though they were in a different world, a world where you could be you or anything you wanted to be.

Strip looked to Ophelia, a cocky grin on his lips. "So, what do you say that us two have a race? Three laps, loser has to time the winner and give them feedback."

"You try'na say something, Weathers?" She smirked, liking the idea. "You're on, hope you enjoyed coaching me."

"Don't get so cocky, Lia. Let's see if you can keep up with me, if anyone's race car material here it's me."

Ophelia giggled, he was right. He was a lot better then she was, plus a lot faster. If anyone could become a successful race car, it was him. She couldn't help but tease him, she found it fun. "Me? Cocky? Never. I'm just stating the truth."

"Alright, we go on three. One...two..."

The intensity began to kick in for other cars, Strip was nervous he wouldn't take off at the right time, while Ophelia was nervous about the whole race in general. She hated waiting for it to start.

"Three!"

As soon as Strip shouted, both cars were off. They had three laps to complete, whoever came in first won. They'd be the one who'd become the future famous race car, while the other would be on the sidelines, cheering their friend on. Their biggest fan out of a crowd of thousands of cars.

Strip was in the lead, Ophelia trailed close behind him. She admired how fast he was, that was something she never felt comfortable with. She never was one for speed, she always left that to Strip.

"One lap down, two to go. You can do it Strip, just keep doing what you're doing. Don't worry about your surroundings, worry about what's going on." He reminded himself, feeling confident about winning.

Ophelia laughed happily, the two weren't only just being competitive, but they were also having fun. "Well, would you look at Weathers. Now that is what you call a natural born racer." She forced herself to speed up, coming up beside her friend.

Strip looked to his friend, grinning. "I wouldn't be so sure about that, Ophelia Ezra."

Without even knowing it, both young cars were on their last lap. They'd just competed their second one, it was the last and final lap. The lap that would show who was destined to be a race car.

Both cars were neck and neck, both feeling a rush of nervousness run through them. This is what it was like to live on the edge, have fun. It was a close call, but Strip had just beat Ophelia.

The young car raced around happily, a big smile on his face. He'd managed to beat his best friend, a car he was so certain would've beaten him. Looks like he was sorely mistaken. "Well, coach. Should we get to timing?"

Ophelia smiled, she was glad Strip won. Something just told her that this was for him, not her. "Of course, my faithful apprentice. Let's take it from the top."
