Our Little Nindroid

Sick nindroid

The ninja were all peacefully sleeping when they were all woken up by an ear splitting shriek.

They immediately ran to Zane's room and saw the toddler covered in snow.

"Wait what?!" Jay asked "what's with the snow?"
"It's because it's his elemental power. I never told anyone but one time I threw up and there were rocks and pebbles everywhere. It was not pretty." Cole said
"COULD WE MAYBE TURN DOWN HIS VOLUME LEVEL?! HE'S VERY LOUD!!" Kai shouted clutching his ears. Jay opened a small compartment on Zane's arm and turned down his volume.

"Okay I got some baby wipes." Pixal said as she tried her best to get the snow out of the cot.
"How has he even thrown up!? He hasn't eaten anything!" Lloyd said
"I'm still stuck on how he poops." Cole said
"Can you stop talking about poop and make yourselves useful!?" Nya asked
"I'll get him a chance of clothes." Kai said leaving the room.
"Jay you clean him." Pixal said
"it why do I have to clean him!?" Jay wined
"Because it's wierd if I do and he won't let anyone else pick him up."
"Uhh. Fine. I'll go run him a bath." Jay said leaving the room.
"He's got a strangely high temperature. He should be fine by tomorrow." Pixal said
"How does a nindroid even get sick?" Cole asked backed up against a wall
"His systems are just overheating. They take a day to cool off and a result of that can't be coughing, throw up, nausea and stomach aches."
"So... what's he caught?"
"Nindroid flu. It's quite common."
"Pix. The normal flu is contagious. Wouldn't that mean nindroid flu is also contagious?" Nya asked
"Extremely. Why do you ask?"
"It's contagious!?" Cole asked freaking out
"Only to nindroids." Kai said walking in.
"Well if it's contagious then you should be around Zane." Nya said to Pixal.
"I can't just leave him! No one else knows how to treat nindroid flu!" Pixal complained
"We can figure it out. You have trust us." Nya said

Pixal didn't want to leave her sick boyfriend but she knew Nya was right.

"*sigh* okay. I'll trust you." Pixal said sadly.
"It's okay Pixal. We just can't afford to loose two teammates though. Like you said, it's only till tomorrow ." Lloyd said
"I guess." She said. She was thinking about what had happened the previous night. About everything Zane had said. Despite not being his mother she did feel highly responsible for him and hated to leave him.

Pixal sadly walked out of the bedroom and went to her own. She scanned herself for any trace of nindroid flu and luckily she hadn't caught it.

She sat on her bed with her head in her hands and thought. She thought about what Zane had told her the night before and she thought about how he could possibly get back to normal. She thought about the events leading up to the battle that changed him and what they could've done to prevent this. She worried about Zane and doubted that the others would know how to treat nindroid flu and how she really wanted to help but she couldn't.

She then heard a faint knock on the door.

"Who is it?" She said
"Pixal. It's Nya."
Pixal got off her bed and opened the door to let Nya in.
"Hello Nya. What brings you here?" The droid asked
"It's just I thought that you seemed a little distressed. I was thinking maybe.. ice cream? And you can tell me what's bothering you." She said
"What about Zane?" Pixal asked
"He's doing fine Pixal. Going for an hour or so should be fine."

Pixal didn't really have anything better to do. She couldn't look after Zane until he was better and the city ha debentures rather peaceful lately.

"Okay.. I'll get an ice cream with you." Pixal said
"Great!" Nya said taking her hand and leading her outside so they could go to the ice cream shop.

~~~~Meanwhile~~~~

"WHY IS HE CRYING!?" Kai asked
"PROBABLY BECAUSE PIXAL ISN'T HERE!!" Cole shouted
"ZANE LISTEN!" Jay shouted above the noise. That calmed him down a bit "I know you miss Pixal but you have nindroid flu and it's contagious to other nindroids. If she catches it then she will be sick too."
"She misses you too but if you don't want her to get sick then you need to stay here." Kai said.

The two year old immediately started crying again really loudly.

"It's a good thing Nya took Pixal to get ice cream. Otherwise she would be in here instantly and then she would get sick too." Jay said. Zane stopped crying and looked at jay with a quizzical look.
"Oh way to go Jay! Now he's gonna try and find her!" Kai said
"Jeez relax. He's a sick kid. He won't have the energy to move, let alone walk to the ice cream place." Jay said confidently
"I.. wouldn't be to sure about that Jay." Cole said. Jay looked at Zane. Or at least where he had been. "Zane?" He called out
"Oh way to go Zap trap you lost the kid!" Kai scolded
"You weren't watching him either!" Jay said
"Found him." Lloyd said looking out the window.

Zane was actually trying to summon his dragon so he could get to where Pixal was.

"We gotta stop him!" Kai said, hurrying everyone through the door.

Zane had just about summoned a baby dragon but his droid flu was marking it hard to concentrate. When he was a few feet in the air, his dragon disappeared and Jay only just managed to catch him.

"Whew. That was close." The blue ninja said. He looked down at Zane expecting him to be asleep or something it he wasn't. He was just staring at the monastery gates longingly. He looked very miserable. And he was silently crying, not brawling like he had dine earlier but just a single tear rolling down his cheek.

Jay came back inside and out Zane back in his cot. The nindroid didn't say anything and just sat there. Silently.

"Heeyy buddy. You okay?" The red ninja asked
"When's Pic-wal coming howm?" The ice ninja asked
"Very soon Zane." Lloyd said
"Do you want to be nice and in bed by the time she gets back?" Jay asked
"No. I want to tawk to her."
"It was a rhetorical question Zane. You're still sick." Jay said
"But if you go to sleep then you will be better soon and then you can see Pixal again sooner." Kai said
"Really?" Zane asked happily
"Y-yes! But you have to be asleep." Lloyd said
"Okway!" Zane said pulling his covers over his head to fall asleep.
"Goodnight Zane."
"Good night Jay."
