BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

I groaned and rolled over to shut the stupid alarm clock off. I sat up and ran my fingers through my black and blonde hair. Mornings suck. I yanked the comforter off of me and got out of bed. I walked to my private bathroom and turned on the light. I looked in the mirror and frowned. I got home so late that I fell asleep with my make-up on. It had smeared and now I looked like the Joker. I grabbed a cloth and wiped the make-up off.

“Hayden!” I jumped and turned around to see my older twin brother, Jace, standing in the doorway. He flipped his black hair and smiled at me. Why is he so chipper? “Why are you so fucking slow?” he said walking into the bathroom. He sat on the edge of the tub and looked up at me. “Why are you so fucking annoying?” I mumbled.

“I heard that” he frowned. I walked out of the bathroom and said: “you were supposed to!” Jace walked in behind me and jumped onto my bed. “Ok, what is wrong with you?” I said frowning at him. He sat up and looked at me with a serious expression. “How could you forget? My girlfriend….? Surprise party..? Remember that?” he said disappointed. Even though I hated his girlfriend, I still felt sucky for forgetting.

“Oh I’m so sorry Jace” I walked over to my drawer and found my black skinny jeans with the rips and an Upon This Dawning t-shirt. He watched as I pulled out my black converses. “You’re wearing a lot of black aren’t you?” he said looking me up and down. “You’re one to talk!” I pointed out his solid black shirt and black skinnies.  He shrugged and stood up to leave. “Bacon right?” he said walking to the door.

“Yeah.” I walked back into the bathroom and took a shower to get ready for the day.

~1 hour later~

I grabbed my pieces of bacon and scarfed them down. I heard an annoying giggle and a second later saw my brother and his girlfriend walk into the kitchen. She ran over and gave me a hug when she saw me. “Oh my gosh! I am like so happy to see you Hayden!”  she said in her overly happy tone. I gave her a sarcastic smile. “Yeah totally, Charity. I haven’t  seen you in a while!” I said mimicking her bubbly voice. She smiled and turned back to Jace. “So when are we leaving? I want to get good seats.” He was taking her out to distract her from the surprise party. He smiled at her and told her to go get her stuff so that they could go. She made a weird peep noise and ran into the living room. I made a face behind her back and Jace smacked my shoulder. “Is that really necessary?” he said disapprovingly.

“Yes. Your girlfriend is an ass.” He rolled his eyes and walked out to go find her. I knew I wouldn’t like Charity ever since the first time I talked to her. “Isn’t Hayden a boy’s name?” she had said tilting her stupid little brunette head to the side. I rolled my eyes at the thought.

“Hayden, my darling, only 2 more days” I looked toward the voice and saw my best friend Autumn twirling around in the middle of my kitchen floor. I did a little dance. She was right, Warped Tour was in 2 more days and the three of us (Autumn, Jace, and I) would be front and center. “Wait how’d you get in here?” I asked. “Jace let me in. He was leaving with what’s- her- face.” Even though she denied it, I knew that she had a thing for Jace. I shook my head and changed the subject.

“All packed?” She nodded and continued her weirdo dance, blue hair flying everywhere. “Great! That means you can help me.” She stopped dancing and stared at me in disbelief. “You still haven’t packed!? We’re leaving tomorrow!” I shrugged and she dragged me upstairs.

Half an hour later she had all the clothes I would ever need packed and ready to go. “Great!” Autumn put her hands on her hips and stood back proud of herself. “Yeah, great” I said nonchalantly. I picked up the latest edition of AP Magazine. It had Kellin Quinn, Vic Fuentes, and Tay Jardine on the cover and underneath it said “Warped Tour Saves The World”. I smiled and flipped through the pages as Autumn rambled on and on about who knows what.

“Are you even listening?” I shook my head ‘no’ and continued to stare at the group photo of the Warped tour bands. I smiled and screamed “this is gonna be so awesome!!!” I stood up and looked at the clock. It was 1 o’clock and the party doesn’t start until 6:30. What to do? What to do?

We ended up watching movies and eating popcorn until about 5. Then I went upstairs, grabbed my phone, and we were headed to the surprise party that neither of us wanted to go to. By the time we actually got to the location of the party it was 6:15. We stopped just outside of the door and looked at each other. “Ready to be fake?” Autumn asked while puffing up her hair. We both turned on the smiles at the same time and walked through the doors.
