Turns out that we didn’t have to be fake. It was around 9, the music was extremely loud, there were people everywhere, and it seemed like every 20 seconds some drunk guy passed out on the ground.  And to top it all off Jace and his bi- I mean witch wasn’t here yet. So clearly, this was a great ass party.  Autumn and some guy had been talking for a while and they were now moving on to body shots. She was lying on the bar and the guy was whispering in her ear. Oh dear Lord. Autumn screamed and laughed like a maniac as the guy started slurping the drink from her bellybutton. Meanwhile, I had been cringing from every scrubby- bearded freak that tried to talk to me.

“Surprise!!!” The sudden yelling made me jump and I looked toward the entrance. Charity walked in with a face that looked as if it were about to crack. As everybody parted to let her through she began to cry. I looked around everywhere for Jace but couldn’t find him. I stood up on the bar stool and felt someone smack my leg. Jace was standing below me with a brownish liquid in a glass. I got down and looked into his red eyes. “What’s wrong?” I asked.

He looked away from me. “You guys ready to go?” he slurred looking at Autumn. I turned his face back towards me. “What happened!?” I screamed. He took another swig of his drink and I snatched it away, managing to spill some on the ground. I smelled it and took a sip.

“Scotch? Eww. Since when do you drink Scotch?” He looked at me annoyed for a second and then walked over to Autumn. She had just taken the shot and was now wrestling a lime out of the guy’s mouth. I scrunched my face up in disgust and helped Jace drag her away. I asked Jace again what was wrong and he exploded on me.

“YOU WERE RIGHT, OKAY!? Charity… is… she cheated on me.” He looked at me then stalked off with Autumn right behind him. “Jace, wait!” I screamed over the music. He turned around annoyed and I put my index finger up, signaling for him to wait. I looked around for Charity but couldn’t find her. A menacing smile spread across my face and I walked toward the stage pushing people out of my way. When I reached the stage I had the DJ cut the music and the stage lights flashed into my eyes. The people all turned toward me and I put on another fake smile as I grabbed the microphone. “Hey party people!!!” I said and they all began cheering.

“As you know, today is Charity’s birthday!!!!” They screamed some more and a few people looked back at her. I found her. Charity was laughing and giggling with some guy but stopped when she saw everyone looking at her. Her face completely fell when she looked on stage and saw me smiling and waving at her.

“Come on up here Charity” I said, a devilish smirk creeping back on my face. She reluctantly walked to the stage and stood next to me. I looked out into the distance and Jace was staring straight at us. I smiled in his direction and got back on the microphone. “Let’s all thank my brother Jace for this party.” They clapped and the corners of Jace’s mouth spread a little.

“In honor of your birthday Charity,” I continued “I’m going to tell a little story.” I gave her a smile and she seemed to relax a little.

“Once upon a time there was a girl who had the best boyfriend ever. He loved her so much that he planned a huge party for her.” The crowd got quiet and looked at Charity. She went pale as a ghost and stared out at the crowd. “So, what happened to this couple?” I looked around for dramatic effect. “The bitch cheated on him.” Charity stormed off of the stage and the crowd was completely silent except for the few pissy drunk people. I took a bow and went to go find my brother and friend.

When I reached my brother he looked angry. “Ready?” I said with a cutesy smile. He cracked a smile and kissed me on the cheek. “I love you, kid” he said picking me up and spinning me around. He put me down and together we hauled Autumn to the car.
