Techno could sense that something was off. Not wrong, but just...off. And it wasn't with him but Type, his best friend.

Err...fuck buddy?

He mentally cringed at the word. Ick. It was too coarse and unfeeling to use for Type. They were best friends that got...intimate, sometimes. And that was that.

But for some reason, now that Type was able to do football again and was moving about normally, he was also acting different than he used to. Techno would turn to say something, and find the other already watching him with an unreadable expression that morphed into an interested smile when he noticed Techno looking at him. And sure, being friends-with-benefits made them a bit more touchy feely with each other. But Type had stepped it up a notch recently, brushing against Techno when there was plenty of room to pass by in the hallway, coming up and hugging him from the side instead of doing the usual one-armed hug, even taking Techno's hand and fiddling with his fingers while they talked.

Not that Techno really minded. He was just confused about why Type was doing it. And bewildered at the electric tingle that shot through his system each time Type touched him. He'd never felt it before, and it was quite...Oh, what's the word?? Techno frowned. Addicting? Pleasant?

"Ai'No! Ai'No! Are you in there???"

Techno blinked, coming back to the present. "...huh?"

Mild, the girl he was talking to before class started, just smiled in amusement, shaking her head. "I was saying, maybe we could catch that new Marvel movie this weekend? Jane won't be able to go, and I don't want to go alone."

Techno considered it. A part of him felt like he'd be doing something unforgivable if he went alone with Mild. He couldn't understand it. He slowly nodded anyway, knowing he had no plans that weekend.

At least, Type hadn't said anything about them meeting up that weekend...

"Great!" Mild's face glowed with happiness, and she leaned closer. "We could meet in front of the dorms, say, five o'clock?"

"Evening showing?"

"Unh," she nodded.

Techno leaned his cheek on his palm, smiling slightly at her. "Sounds good to me. I hope it's a good movie."

Type came in, capturing Techno's attention. Yet, instead of sitting next to Techno, he went and sat in a seat all the way at the back of the room, refusing to look at anyone. Techno frowned to himself. Had he done something to offend the other guy?

"Hey, I thought you and Ai'Type were best friends," Mild whispered, peering back at Type.

Techno glanced back as well. Type was tapping his chin with a pencil, staring off into space. "I thought so, too..." he shrugged. Oh, well. I'll talk to him after.

He didn't get the chance. As soon as class was dismissed, Type was out of there like a rocket, leaving behind a stunned Techno.

Had he done something wrong?

"He's going out with Mild."

Tin and Pete looked up, the former mildly surprised, the latter startled at the senior's sudden appearance. "P'Techno?" Tin asked, feeling a pang of sympathy when Type swiped at his eyes.

"Y-yeah..." Type sighed softly, sitting next to Pete. Then he realized something. "Where's Ae and Can? I thought you four always sat together?"

"They're running a few minutes late today, P," Pete answered in his usual gentle voice. He shared a concerned look with Tin. Type really didn't look like he was coping very well.
