Techno looked at his phone for the time and frowned. There was only three minutes until curfew. Where the hell was Type??

"Hey, No. Where's Type with the snacks?" asked Ming.

Earn, the other guy there, nodded. "Yeah. Shouldn't he be back by now?"

Just then, they heard thunder rumble again. The pit-pat of rain on the window had all three boys looking out as lightning lit up the sky, showing the downpour outside.

"Maybe he got caught in the rain?"

"Dude," Ming nudged Earn's shoulder. "It just started raining. Something had to have happened before the rain. No," he turned to Techno with a concerned look on his face. "Do you think we should go look for him?"

Techno took one last glance out the window before grabbing his jacket off the end of his bed and slipping into his shoes, heading for the door. "No point in all of us getting caught out after curfew. I'll go look for him. You two stay here in case he gets back before I do."

"Earn can stay, and I can help look," Ming offered, also grabbing his own jacket and shoes.

Techno gave Earn a questioning look. Earn held two thumbs up. "I can hold down the fort. You two go find our missing friend."

Techno and Ming checked to make sure the security guard wasn't looking in their corridor before hightailing it to the front doors. Only two steps outside in the steady rain, and Ming nearly tripped over an abandoned plastic bag. A closer look showed it was from the convenience store the boys liked to frequent. Inside were the snacks the boys had been talking about wanting, including the receipt.

"This has to be Type's," Techno muttered, looking left and right for any sign of his friend. Nothing. "So where is he??"

"You go that way, and I'll go this way," Ming pointed to the left for Techno. "We're bound to come across him sooner or later. Maybe he took a detour?"

"And left the snacks to sit in the rain? That's not Type."

"Maybe he forgot them?"

"Type wouldn't forget snacks. He likes food as much as the rest of us do."

The two split up, Techno going left and Ming going right. Ming's gaze darted in every direction, hoping to catch sight of Type. He even ventured down alleyways and peered in windows. Type was nowhere to be found.

Techno on the other hand was jogging down the sidewalk, scanning his surroundings carefully. He new Type wouldn't go into any alleyways...but someone might've dragged him into one. He gave each one a cursory stare before moving on. If something had happened to him...

Techno wouldn't let himself think about it.

The first thing that came to mind was his head was throbbing from pain. The second thing he noticed was he was sitting up and his arms were secured behind his back. He couldn't stop the small groan of pain from escaping his lips.

"Ah. So you're finally awake. I was wondering if I'd hit you harder than needed."

Type blinked a few times, struggling to focus on the figure in front of him. What the hell happened? Where am I??

"Although," the figure knelt down, a humorless smile on their face. "Even if that had happened, it wouldn't matter much. You won't be leaving here in one piece, anyway, Thiwat."
