Apparently it was two days later when I arose from my lengthy nap. I practically leaped out of bed and slumped into the kitchen oblivious to the fact I had a mighty fall a few days earlier. I saw my mother dozing on the couch. I dared not wake her out of her dreams.
I had put my toast into the toaster and it was just about to... Pop!!!
Mother woke up with a startle and rushed over to me. I expected her to growl me for waking her ( she had been really tired lately).
She tried to explain to me what had happened but she either burst into tears and stammer or went back and forwards with the story sequence of events.
Eventually twenty minutes later the jigsaw of a story was completed. Mother suddenly stood up and walked briskly to the refrigerator were a piece of paper with an address on was stuck to the door.
" Later this afternoon you must go to this address to thank Mr Linden," commanded mother.
" Who is Mr Linden, Mother? And I thought it was morning." I asked. "Why he is the lovely old man that took you home when you fell over."
