The Dark Corner

-- Prologue --

My name is Amelia Wilson, my life is pretty normal most of the time. The difference between me and my big brother is not only our age and gender but also the fact that I can see the monsters and he can't. As far as I know I'm the only person in my family that can see them. They sometimes sit on a chair or are hiding in a dark corner in the living room. I don't see them all the time but I know they're there. Waiting for the right time to go and take me away. 

I've seen it happen once, I was 10 at the time. The nanny took my brother and I to the playground. When we got there Leo saw a couple of friends that were there that time and left me and our nanny alone. After I waved at her and went to the slide I saw them, hiding in the bushes. They were in the bushes behind the bench my nanny was sitting on. But instead of disappearing like they always do when I saw them. They did something they've never done before, they stared right back at me with a strange grin on their face. I wanted to scream her name but I was to late. The shadow person took her. She disappeared in thin air, never to be seen again.

That was the first and only time something like that happend.
