The next morning Katelyn awoken to the bitter smell of coffee and the familiar scent of her mothers perfume. She sluggishly put on a green button-up and a Jean-skirt. She  slipped on her black converse and walked down the winding stairs.

"Goodmorning!" Her mother cried rapping her arms around Katelyn in a bear hug. "You excited for your FIRST day of school!" Ms.O'herren exclaimed . "As ready as I will ever be." Katelyn sighed, putting her rosey pink backpack around her shoulders and sitting down for a piece and toast and a sip of watered down coffee.

They chatted a bit more about the nasty school lunches and her and her mothers favorite subject. She threw away her breakfast, checked her watch, pecked her mother on the cheek and ran out the door, catching her bus.

She stepped off the bus into the sleek hallways of Westerville high and the coffee smelling cafeteria. Tons is students rushed in and out doors and they all held textbooks and notes, flying every which way. Her eyes were wide as she practicly flew to her locker and picked up her books with caution.

"What class am I supposed to be in... I'm new. Katelyn O'herren?" She said pacing back and forth in the office, checking her watch every 5 seconds. "Erm.. Yes. Here you are, physics first." Mrs.Claton, the principal said, a smile plastered on her face.

She then ran down the slick hallways and into Mr.James physics class. "I see.. Your first day and your late?" He said tapping a ruler on his desk and then pointed to a seat near a red-headed boy.

"That is Devon, Devon Garner. You now for the next semester will be sitting next to this young boy." Mr.James sighed sitting down and positioning his tie. Katelyn stepped over to Devon and sat down in the seat, putting her backpack on the back of the seat and text books in the desk.
