Devon Garner, a popular track runner, know for his wild parties and positive attitude. Katelyn, to most other girls, was lucky she got to sit by Devon, but Katelyn didn't think so. She sighed, she wanted to be a straight A+ student and didn't want to flunk basically every class.

She knew that if he was just as crazy as she had heard from whispering girls, nosy neighbors, and rich girls who thought everything of themselves. But to be honest she kind of enjoyed the attention. The whispers and points whenever Devon chatted with her at her locker or whenever he gave her a mechanic pencil.

"Hey, I'm Liz!" A girl with bouncy and blond curly hair said. Her gap in her front teeth making her whistle on accident with certain words. "Uh.. Hello? I'm Katelyn." She said, awkwardly waving. "Wanna sit by me at lunch.. People think I'm too loud and I talk to fast. So I really don't have anyone to sit by." She said, without a awnser, pulling her toward the cafeteria.

They then sat down at a small mahogany wood table with their ham sandwhices and chocolate milk. "So.. Sorry for that, I didn't really introduce myself. I'm Liz, I take most art classes, I'm a junior." She said her blond curls bouncing as she moved her head.

"I'm Katelyn O'herren. I'm a sophomore." She said taking a bite of the stale and cold sandwhich. "Oh my gosh! Your a O'herren! My mom knew your mom." She said talking as fast as Katelyn could hear her. "Oh, thats great." She said sighing.

Devon then came and sat down inbetween the 2 girls. "Hello ladies, you guys going to the dance next Friday?" He said, Katelyn noticing his voice was smooth. "Yes. And me and Katelyn are going to enjoy ourselves WITHOUT guys. Am I right, Katelyn?" She said tugging on Katelyns arm. "Uh... I don't-" but before she knew it she was being led of by Liz.
