>Civil War Bucky Barnes<

I was watching Civil War earlier and got this idea. Hope you enjoy 😁

Note: You are Steve's little sister, and you were on the plane with Steve when it crashed in The First Avenger. Before the war, you and Bucky were dating.

*Your POV*

I hurried into the large warehouse, trying my best not to be seen by anyone nearby. The building was old and abandoned which made it perfect for hiding. I turned around a corner seeing Steve leaning against a wall, looking out one of the windows.

"Steve," I called, catching his attention.

He jerked his head towards me, stress evident on his face.

"Where is he?" I asked, jogging over to him.

"He's still out cold. We don't know when he's going to be awake," He explained.

"I asked where he was, Steve," I said more firmly.

"Hey, Cap," I heard a voice call as Steve was about to answer.

I turned my head to see Sam standing in front of a big doorway. Steve glanced at me before we both jogged over to him. I looked into the doorway noticing Bucky sitting with his left arm clamped down by some machine.

I gasped, trying to run towards him, but Steve held me back before I could.

"Hold on a second, we don't know if he's stable yet," He said as I looked up at him.

He looked back at Bucky, a much more firm look on his face, "Which Bucky am I talking to?" He asked, keeping his arm held in front of me.

I watched Bucky's face as he furrowed his eyebrows, trying to think.

"Your mom's name was Sarah," He started, before smiling a bit, "You used to wear newspapers in your shoes."

Steve turned to Sam, "You can't read that in a museum."

I looked back up to Steve before he gave me a nod and moved his arm. I ran to Bucky and wrapped my arms around his neck. He used him free arm to hold me up, kissing my cheek.

"So just like that we're supposed to be cool?" Sam asked.

I turned my attention back to them, keeping one arm wrapping around his shoulders.

"What did I do?" Bucky asked in a low voice.

"Enough," Steve responded.

Bucky sighed, "Oh, God, I knew this would happen. Everything HYDRA put inside of me is still there. All he had to do was say the words."

"Who was he?" I asked.

"I don't know,"

"People are dead. The bombing, the setup. The doctor did all that just to get 10 minutes with you. I need you to do better than 'I don't know'" Steve said, making me look up at him.

Bucky furrowed him eyebrows again, "He wanted to know about Siberia," He paused, "Where I was kept. He wanted to know exactly where"

"Why would he need to know that?"

There was a long pause before Bucky looked up at Steve.

"Because I'm not the only Winter Soldier,"

My head shot up towards him and then towards Steve, who's eyebrows were furrowed in confusion. I looked back towards Bucky and he returned a glance.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"In 1991, I was given a mission to locate and kill the Starks. No witnesses, as usual," He started, but Steve cut him off.

"Wait, you killed the Starks? I thought they were in a car accident," He questioned.

"They were, but who do you think caused it?" He responded.

My eyes widened a I glanced up at Bucky, keeping my arm around him. He looked back down at me, worry evident on his face. I nodded to him, signaling him to continue his story

"I was to come back with a serum that they had. Of course, I did it without any complications and returned back with the serum. They chose 5 people for the project they were doing. They were making more super soldiers, but trying to improve. I was the one who tested them in battle. I fought them multiple times. They one almost every time," He paused and I ran my fingers through his hair to comfort him, "One night, after training, one of them went crazy. He attacked the doctor and then when one of the soldiers tried to take them down, the rest of them went crazy. I was ordered by one of our supervisors to get him out before anything happened. I don't remember what happened next. But they got them into cryo eventually."

"Who were they?" Steve asked.

"Their most elite death squad. More kills than anyone in HYDRA history," He explained, "And that was before the serum."

"They all turn out like you?" Sam pitched in.

"Worse,"

"The doctor, could he control them?" Steve questioned.

"Enough," Bucky responded, keeping his head low.

I gave him a concerned look and laid my head on his shoulder.

"He said he wanted to see an empire fall," Steve recalled.

"With these guys, he could do it. They speak 30 languages, can hide in plain sight, infiltrate, assassinate, destabilize. They can take a whole country down in one night, you'd never see them coming," He explained.

Sam walked towards Steve and started saying something, but I was too far away to hear. I glanced down at Bucky, whose head was still hanging low. I put my hand under his chin and lifted it.

"Are you okay?" I asked him when his eyes met mine.

"I guess," He responded, "I don't know, I almost lost you and I'm afraid that it's gonna happen again."

I frowned, keeping my arms around him. During his story, Sam had unclamped his arm since he was stable. He wrapped his arms around my waist, burying his head into my neck.

"I'm sorry babe," I said quietly as he pulled me closer to him.

He was silent for a few moments, as I played with his hair.

"I could've easily ruined any chance I had to get you back and I almost did. I can't let that happen again, but as soon on someone starts to say the trigger words then I'm gone," He said, lifting his head.

He had tears in his eyes and looked like he was ready to break down. I put both hands on his cheeks, wiping his eyes with my thumbs.

"Listen to me Bucky. All that matters is that we got you before anyone else could. We're here with each other right now and you're not the winter soldier right now. And we're going to make sure that you're not ever again okay? I promise Buck, we are going to figure this out,"

The frown didn't leave his face as he held eye contact with me, "I know, but I'm scared."

"It's okay Bucky. Everything's going to be okay," I assured him, pulling him back into me.

He gave in and wrapped his arms around me again.

"Please don't worry," I pleaded, holding him tighter against me.

He nodded, not moving from his position.

"I'll try,"
