ROSE NEVER REMEMBERED much from her parents deaths. Even though she was a pre-teen when her father died, she could hardly remember it. However, her mother's death was a mere tale her father told her on her birthday, or mothers day, occasionally christmas- any time she'd ask why her mother wasn't celebrating with them. He would tell her that her mother was off in some castle, living her life as queen and would one day come home for Rose.
It wasn't until Rose was nine when she learned her mother wasn't a queen living in a castle, but was no longer alive and living in heaven.
Her parents were small memories, one's she'd kept buried under all the pain and loss she went through.
Rose ran across the sandbox with her stuffed goat that she named Gus after watching Cinderella for the first time. She smiled as she clutched the stuffed animal closer to herself, she sat atop a bench, watching as her Dad made his way to her. It was rare when he was able to spend time with Rose, but the two cherished each second they did have with each other. He picked up the small girl with ease and grabbed Gus with his free hand.
The small girl giggled as her Dad began to talk to the goat as if he were real. But the smile she had was long gone when she noticed a few other kids at the park with their mothers. He had tried his best to keep her away from the children who constantly questioned her mom's whereabouts, but it was inevitable. Rose turned to her father with tears in her eyes, "W-when can I see mom?" She never said 'mommy' like other five-year-olds, mostly because the child feared that if she ever saw mother, she'd hate the name. Rose thought it was best not to get in that habit.
"She's busy, remember? Mommy has to take care of the castle. Wouldn't want our little princess to come home to a messy castle now would we?"
It was one of the many memories Michael had forced the girl to recover. Rose let the hot tears fall from her eyes as she pushed the archangel away from herself. "J-Just stop!" She cried.
"I won't let you break me." The raven haired girl spoke through gritted teeth. "I have fought monsters stronger than you. I've fought the devil. You cannot break me." Rose fought back. The angel nodded and laughed as he clenched his fist which caused the girl to scream out in pain. Her leg buckled and she fell to the floor with a loud thud. "You really are the girl who lost everything." Michael uttered.
He clenched his fist even harder, earning another scream from Rose. "You really are the angel with daddy issues." Rose snapped back with heavy breathing. It was no secret why Michael had become a monster, he wanted attention and love from his father. In some odd way, he reminded Rose of Dean. "You think God is going to come back and love you? Give you attention? He doesn't care. He never has." The young girl croaked.
