One Year Later...
Jason Todd was sitting on the roof of his apartment building, eyes gazing over the city he called home. He took a sip from the coffee mug that was in his hand, eyes never leaving the sirens as they raced through the streets towards their destination.
He heard the footsteps behind him and he smirked, waiting until his companion was next to him before addressing their presence. "Seems as if you've had a busy night."
A chuckle was heard next to him and he turned to gaze at his partner. "You know me, all work and no play."
Jason snorted, taking another sip from his coffee before answering. "So, to what do I owe this visit?"
The person next to him shrugged, taking the mask off their face. "What? I can't visit my little brother?"
Jason scoffed, rolling his eyes. "You can, but you always have an ulterior motive. So spill, what is it?"
"Fair enough, you caught me." The visitor smirked at Jason. "I have a lead on the mission, figured you would want to know."
Jason raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Well, what are you doing here then? Shouldn't you be following this lead?"
"I want to bring you with me."
Jason broke out into a grin, chugging the rest of his coffee before walking towards the roof door. He turned when he didn't hear footsteps behind him, looking at his partner over his shoulder. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go."
His partner put their mask back on, walking up to Jason and clapping him on the shoulder. "Good to have you back, Red."
Jason elbowed them in the ribs. "I would say the same to you, Cheshire, but you never leave me alone."
"Oh, hush. You know you love me." Jade smirked over at Jason, gesturing for him to lead the way. "Now let's go, before the trail runs cold."
"Please, I am ninety percent sure I was trained by Batman. I think I can pick up a cold trail."
Jade chuckled once more. "Glad to see your memories are returning."
"Yeah, if only I could remember who Batman and his family of bats are. That would surely help."
"In due time, Jason, in due time."
The duo made their way down to Jason's apartment, neither of them aware of the third person on the roof. They watched the friends walk into the building, the door closing behind them and they grinned.
"His memories are returning? Perfect." They raised a hand to their comm unit. "Jason is remembering, I repeat Jason is remembering."
"Do you want us to bring him in?"
The person hummed. "No, let's wait a little bit. Soon though, we shall bring Jason home." They looked back at the door, green eyes practically burning a hole in the door. "Just you wait, Jason. Just you wait."
fin.
