I just want to say a quick thank you to @colbybrockfic on tumblr for giving me the idea! (Btw this one takes place in the Traphouse)
It started off as a joke. A playful joke, that went too far. --
"So, you're really trying to tell me that you can make better enchiladas than me?" I asked defensively from across the counter. Colby leaned across the table, supporting his weight on his hands, "Damn right." He argued back. This went on for a couple minutes before, "Colby, I grew up making enchiladas! Twice a month, me and my grandma would make them!" I yelled from my spot on the counter. "Babe, you can argue all you want but I'll still make better enchiladas" Colby said smugly, crossing his arms over his chest and moving in front of me. His eyes were full of amusement. I could tell that he was having fun because he knew that he was getting a rise out of me. I hopped off the counter and walked up to him, standing so close that our chest's were almost touching. "Are you suggesting a cook off, pretty boy?" I asked. Colby smirked and leaned down, his nose touching mine, "Hell yeah, I am." He whispered.
Two hours later the kitchen counter top was covered in all of the ingredients and cooking supplies that we would need for this competition. Not to be cocky but everyone that has tried my enchiladas has told me that they were the best that they have ever had. They've also said that with my pozole, but we don't need to talk about that. I'm really not trying to be cocky but some things need to be told, "You know, everyone who has tried my enchiladas, they said they are the best." I told Colby while starting the red sauce. He laughed, when I looked over my shoulder, I saw him shaking his head. "What are you shaking your head at Brock?" I asked fully turning around and grabbing a tortilla. "Just thinking about how blown away your going to by my amazing enchiladas" he cockily said. I rolled my eyes, "mark your words."
I let out a breath once I slipped the pan of uncooked enchiladas into the oven to cook. I wiped the little sweat droplets off with the back of my hand. I turned back to the counter, to start cleaning up my mess but Colby's side of the counter caught my attention. He had one tortilla with the chicken in it...but that's it. In the a hour that it took me to make a full pan, he had made one, plus the look of utter confusion plastered on his face was priceless. I burst out laughing, I didn't mean to but seeing this and replaying the conversation in my head, and how cocky he was, I couldn't contain it. My laugh just bubbled out of my mouth, I was gasping for air once my full out laugh had calmed down to scattered giggles. "Don't laugh at me, it's not nice." Colby's voice cut through my mind and I once again looked over to him. I had to suppress my laughter but I was going to be nice. Or I would try. "Oh baby, do you need help?" I cooed standing next to him. Colby just shook his head and looked down at the mess below him. A couple of seconds passed before he sighed and rubbed his face with his dirty hands, "Why is cooking so damn hard?" his voice muffled by his hands. I giggled again and moved behind him, resting my cheek on his back, my arms around his waist, I asked, "Do you want help?" Colby sighed again and turned around, my arms falling from his waist. He shook his head, "Nope, I can do this by myself." He looked so determined, it was cute. "Okay babe, but I offered" I said as I started to clean up my side of the counter.
Finally after what felt like forever, my space was cleaned and my enchiladas were done. The timer from my phone made me jump from the counter, making Colby chuckle. He had gotten his own pan in the oven about ten minutes ago so he was also cleaning up. I laughed and shook my head at him. I went over to the oven and pulled my glass pan out and switched Colby's to the top rack so it'll get a better cook. I set them on the counter and sighed when the smell of enchiladas filled my nose. It took me back to being a kid and making them with my grandma almost every Sunday. I smiled at the memory, "Thinking about when you were a kid?" Colby asked coming behind me and pulling my back against his chest. I sniffled and wiped my eyes quickly, "yeah, just thinking about when I was kid and all good times with my abuela" I replied leaning back into him. Colby kissed my cheek, "I know you miss home.." he said softly. I nodded my head and turned in his arms, "I do, but I have a new home now." I said. Colby's lips pulled up into a soft smile before he leaned down and kissed me. I brought my arms around his neck and wrapped a soft curl of his hair around my finger. We both jumped back when Colby's phone timer went off, notifying us that his own enchiladas were done. "Let's get these babies out of the oven," Colby said while doing a weird dance over to the oven. I laughed at his dance and went back to plating my hot wraps of deliciousness. Once Colby and I's enchiladas were plated I yelled for the roommates. "You ready to lose?" I asked Colby. "You wish beautiful," he replied.
Corey, Sam, Katrina, and Devyn all stood in front of us. "Okay, so Mr. Cocky over here," I said pointing over at Colby, who rolled his eyes, "thought he could make better enchiladas then me. So we both made separate ones and we want you to try them." I explained, letting my eyes flick from each of my friends. They all agreed to try them, "So you'll try mine first then Colby's," I said putting a plate in front of each of them. "I'm excited cause I'm staving," Katrina said as she cut into her's. "Oh my god" Devyn practically moaned. "Holy fuck Y/n" Corey said looking up at me with wide eyes and a full mouth. I laughed a little and looked over at Sam who was yet to say anything. When my eyes met his, he smiled widely, "This...is fucking amazing." he said. "Thank you" I said bowing a little which made everyone laugh. "Alright, my turn." Colby said handing them his plates. Devyn and Katrina took a bite at the same time, I watched their eyes go wide. They sat back and swallowed, "It's good Colby," Devyn said wiping her mouth with her napkin. "Yeah" Katrina agreed avoiding eye contact. I stifled a giggled and look at Corey who was trying to sneakily spit out his bite and Sam who, well poor guy looked like he just ate a fly. "So, I'm taking the silence and all of the looks on your faces that's it's bad." Colby asked. They all shook their heads, but Sam spoke up, "It's not bad brother, but maybe just have Y/n teach you how to make them?" he suggested. I openly laughed with everyone else, including Colby. Once we quite down Corey spoke, "So you're not mad that we don't like your's" he asked looking skeptically at Colby. He threw his head back and laughed, "Nah brother, I knew that I would loose, I only did this because I like getting her all riled up" Colby said pointing at me. My mouth hung open, "I knew it, you bitch." I said slapping him on the chest. We all shared a laugh and we all ate an enchilada before they disbursed, going to do their own thing while Colby and I cleaned up again. " Can you actually teach me how to make them though?" Colby asked pulling me into a hug, I giggled and nodded against his chest, "Of course baby." I replied "Thank you" he said chucking. I breathed out a laugh, "Gotta make sure that our kids aren't going to be eating bad food," "Hey!" Colby exclaimed laughing with me. "Just kidding...well kinda."
