Cybele opens her eyes softly. She is in her room, two familiar puppies lay at the foot of her bed and a wolf is curled up into her chest. A light and gray fog waves through her bedroom. She feels a cat start to rest on her shoulder.

"Cybele! You're awake!" Scott smiles. He pulls a seat next to the bed and sits down.

"Every...everything was...was black. I could...could barely see anything!" Cybele exclaims softly.

"I know. Your powers took control over you and you became paralyzed. I am going to take a wild guess that you have a mist or smoke generation mutation," Scott says, gesturing to the fog. "It might have been developing in the past, but it is starting to show now without you being able to stop it. It's unexplainable." Scott tells his friend.

"But how can I have more powers! I already have too much to control! I'm twenty-five, Scott, you'd think I'd be used to it by now!" Cybele stresses. She can hear Scott sigh stressfully. "How'd I get back here?"

     "Logan carried you."

     "Oh, he did?"

"You're growing on him. He is starting to adopt you as he did with Rogue." Scott chuckles.

"Logan likes to adopt runaways, doesn't he?"

"It's kind of his thing, I guess."

"He is a grumpy old man if you ask me!" Cybele sighs.

"I'm right here!" Logan growls as he leans up against the door frame of the bedroom. A smile grin appears on his face as he looks at Cybele, happy that she is finally awake.

"Good!" Cybele laughs shyly. She can feel the angry tension between the two men. She knows that they are trying to hold it in for her. She smiles at the two as they glare at each other. But suddenly, her smile fades.

"What?" Scott asks, noticing her expression changing.

"Is Kurt going to be okay?"

"He is, don't worry about him right now. We need to discuss your development of powers." Scott states.

"But Kurt-"

"Cybele, we need to talk about you right now." Scott takes Cybele's hand gently. "Your vines, they were darkening, practically black. Do you know if they are good?" He asks her. Cybele closes her eyes and sighs.

"I don't know. They have...have started to darken for...for a couple... a couple of weeks. But they have only...only showed up a couple of times...times and I can barely control them." Cybele tells Scott as she shifts a little. The little kitten on her shoulder makes a little noise and moves towards the puppies at the foot of the bed.

"Have you ever thought that you might have been poisoned?"

Cybele looks up at her friend. Her green eyes are dark and no sparkles are present. She glances over at Logan, who's eyebrow is raised. She can sense him getting eager for an answer and watches him ball up his fists.

"No."

"Have you ever thought of telling one of us about your vines? This is serious."

"I haven't thought...thought about telling because I...I didn't think anyone would care at all."

"Of course we'd care, kid!" Logan grumbles as he sits in a chair in the corner of the room.

"Your powers seem to be...changing in some way. Maybe if you let me take you to the lab, Ororo and the Professor can figure things out." Scott suggests.

"The last time I was in the lab, I lost my shit!" Cybele states, running a hand through her dark green hair, flower petals fall from her hair and on to her pillow.

"That doesn't mean you'll do the same as last time. You were new here." Scott tells her. He stands up and puts the chair back in place.

     "You went crazy?" Logan questions.

"That was a late reaction, wasn't it." Scott scolds him.

"Shut up, piss boy." Logan poorly snaps back. Yet, Cybele catches their attention by adjusting herself a little.

"It wasn't too long before we met, Logan, or before left the mansion to find a home at least. I had very little interaction with other people for a long time and I wasn't used to the kind of machinery they have in the lab," Cybele moves herself a little. "Then Ororo and Jean found me after a mission of theirs. I was caught up in machinery after trying to help them. But soon enough, I fainted and wouldn't wake up. They took me to the lab and when I woke up, vines started to grow, covering the walls. I couldn't fully control the growth of them then." Cybele takes a deep breath. "I could've hurt Jean and Ororo really bad."

Logan adjusts his position in his chair. He watches Cybele carefully as she sits up. The wolf in her bed rests its head on her lap. He smiles softly as Cybele lets the wolf cuddle in her lap.

"The only reason the vines stopped growing is from cutting them. It took a week to get them out of the lab. It was one of the scariest things that...that happened in my life. But it was for the better, I guess." Cybele finally states. She looks at Scott. He was looking softly at her. "I don't want that to happen again, Scott. There has...has to be another way...way out of that. I might hurt you guys this time."

Scott gently puts his hand on her head, being delicate with the flowers that grow with her hair. The flowers turn a brighter red at Scott's touch. They are as red as his glasses.

"We won't let that happen again." He states.

"I'm going to hurt people."

"Don't argue with me, Cybele, you won't win."

"I will go to the only if I can see Kurt first."

"Alright." Scott sighs. "How about you change into something more comfortable. Logan and I will be outside waiting."

"Okay, thank you." Cybele waits till the two men get out of the room and hear them grumbling at each other before getting out of bed. As the door closes, she notices a picture on the wall.

It's a picture of Jean and Scott. Out of all the pictures she has, she just happens to see that one. They were happy. Scott didn't like Cybele that much, but over time, they became good friends. Best friends, actually.
