As the Lord had grown tired, he chose to retire shortly after returning to the Study with Tonic.
On the other hand, Tonic himself also chose to retire after a slight complaint from Jack about being tired and wanting to take to bed. The Lord and the Priest both left Cassandra alone with Jack without much care so it seemed.
Jack stood there by the door of the room, leaning against the frame, his eyes resting on the girl seated in her father's chair. His gaze remained on her, but he wasn't tracing over her petite physique.
"You going to show me to my room?" He'd gesture with one hand towards the open door.
Cassandra who was relaxing, glanced up towards him before pushing herself out of the chair. Yawning, "Oh yeah... Might as well," she folded her hands behind her back, as she strode across the room on the tips of her toes.
It kind of reminded him of an animation he had once seen of a female form skipping across the a body of water, leaving only ripples behind.
It seemed she knew how to dance. A small smile formed over his lips, rather curious of what kind of skills she had other than magic. Perhaps she had more than she thought.
Jack made his way after her, into the hall and down the various corridors. His eyes were on her feet, watching how she moved, how in sync each step was with the rest of her bodily motions.
That's when she chose to look over her shoulder at him, his smile vanishing mere seconds before she could see it. She raised a brow watching his eyes, as they moved with her feet. She turned to face him as she would walk backwards. "Why are you watching my feet?"
"When you made your way out of the room, it reminded me of a dancer... Do you dance?"
Cassandra turned her head to the side, looking at the man from the corner of her eye. "Yes?"
He nodded slightly as he acknowledged the questionable answer as the truth and nothing more or less. He'd fold his own hands behind his back and walk up beside her, having her turn forward as she looked up at him as they walked together.
"Do you dance?" Cassandra kept at least a six inches between them, her eyes not leaving the side of his face as he was now looking forward.
"Depends, who wants to know?"
Cassandra's eyelids relaxed slightly as she just gave him this strange tiresome smile. "I'm going to throw you off a balcony, after breaking one of your wings."
"I mean, I have six of them," Jack retorted with a laugh as his wings were hidden within his back, not being shared out in the open with those watching them.
"Perhaps I'll break half of them, and see if you can still fly?"
"I'll just use magic to fly," his gaze seemed rather playful despite there being no visual emotion on his face other than in those eyes of his. He was in the mood to tease it seemed.
Clucking her tongue against the back of her teeth, "I can't win."
"No you can't," Jack assured her as he watched her from the corner of his eye, not bothering to keep his head turned in her general direction.
"Mind sleeping in my room tonight?" Cassandra asked as she stared at him, her question initially being met with extreme silence. They just kept walking straight, whether or not it was the right way to the bedroom he intended to use.
"Depends," Jack said after a long silence, finally turning his head to look at her, "Why?"
"I never just slept with anyone before, I'm curious of what it feels like." She did seem to actually have some innocence, at least from what he could see and hear from her. It appeared that she just wanted to cuddle for the time being.
