(Kurt, when Veronica came to Ram's house)

---------------------------------------

There was a knock at the door.

"I'll go see who it is," Ram volunteered.

He left, after a minute or so he walked in front of the door, followed by Veronica.  Huh? What's she doing here?

Ram came back, "she wanted a place to stay that wasn't her house.   Nobody likes the monsters hiding in your closet."  I guess he knew what I was wondering.

He crawled back into bed with me, wrapping his arms around me.  I snuggled into him.  This has always been what I wanted.  His brown hair touching mine, his eyes closed in front of me, his body up next to mine.  I only wish it had happened without all the Jason issues.  Though that would be over soon.

I looked at his face once more, it was absent of emotion, his breathing was steady.  I closed my eyes and fell into my mind.

---------------------------------------

Everything was kind of blurry, unfocused.  It was all moving slow.  I saw McNamara.  She was in one of the school bathrooms.  She was looking into a mirror, it's reflection was of her, but tears pouring from her eyes and a silent scream leaving her mouth.  One of her hands was in her pocket.  It was clenched.  She could be upset, or she was clutching something with such force it would break.

Her eyes were closed.  She slowly started opening them.  Who made her captain?  She mouth, though the reflection had only started shaking their head, hands twisting in their hair.  It was an eerie scene.  She pulled her hand out of her pocket.  The thing in her hand was only a blur, I couldn't see what it was.

Then a door slammed open,  I heard crying, then all went white as I awoke to a high pitched scream.

---------------------------------------

Ram's eyes were wide, staring back at mine.

"Veronica," he whispered.  I looked at the clock.  Seven o'clock am.  An hour until school started.

I got out of bed, walking over to where I'm assuming Ram put Veronica for the night.  Ram looked out at me from his room, want help?  He mouthed.  I shook my head.  I twisted the door handle and walked in.  "Hey."

She looked up from where her head had been buried in her hands.  "Hey."

"Doin' alright?  I heard you scream."

"I'm fine.  It was just a dream."  Just a dream.

I went over to the bed and sat cross-legged on it.  "You're wearing Ram's shirt y'know."  I looked down at my shirt.  Fuck, I was.

"I-I um."  I awkwardly laughed.

She put one hand on my shoulder.  "Good for you.  I won't tell anybody."

"T-thank you," It wouldn't be a secret forever anyway...

We sat in silence for a while before Ram came in and told us to go eat breakfast.  Then he asked the question we all wanted to know the answer to, "so what're gonna do about your crazy boyfriend?"

Veronica shrugged, holding up her croquet mallet.

He sighed, "okay then..."  I laughed a little.

We finished breakfast and got into Ram's car.  We drove to school.  If this was the end.  At least Ram would know how I felt, I would know how he felt.

We arrived slightly late on purpose.  Walking into the halls.  People swarming around us.  Not giving a second glance.  The bell rang.  They all filtered through into their classrooms.  We continued down the silent hallways.  This may all get destroyed.  This may be the gravesite for tons.

The only sounds you could hear was distant duct tape being pulled and ripped, I couldn't tell what room it was coming from.  It was eerie being here.  Knowing it will blow to the ground if we don't do anything.

It felt like only seconds when the bell rang again.  People filled the halls once again.  Heather Green strutted through the halls, she was wearing Chandler's scrunchie, guess shes the demon queen of high school now.  McYellow though, she looked ruined.  Her face was in her hands as she walked into the bathroom.  Veronica must have seen as well.  "I'll be right back."  She walked away.

"Kurt? Ram?"  Ms. Fletching.

"Yes?"  I asked.

"I heard you boys got attacked yesterday.  Who was the perpetrator?"

I opened my mouth to speak, though Ram knocked into me a little to interrupt and said, "we don't know.  We heard gunshots and yelling so we ran."

"Ah," it satisfied her.

Veronica came back out of the bathroom holding McNamara's arm.  She waved goodbye and walked back over to us.  "Hello, Ms. Fletching."

"Hello."

"Ms. Fletching, what's under the gym?"

"The boiler room."

"That's it."  She grabbed our arms and turned around.

"Veronica, what's going on?"  Ms. Fletching called.

"Got no time to talk, I'm a dead girl walking."

We continued down to the gym.  It was empty for now.  I never knew this little town of Sherwood, Ohio would have to face somebody like Jason.  There was a staircase in the corner of the room.  She tip-toed down.  Ram and I, did the same.  Jason was through the door at the bottom.

She rose her croquet mallet.  "Put the bomb down."

He looked over at her.  At us.  "No," he said with a hoarse voice.  I would have expected something more from Jason.

He raised a gun.  Veronica screamed and we separated.  He shot and missed.  Veronica ran up to him and swung her mallet.  She missed as well.  Jason had this cold look to his eyes.  He no longer cared for anything.  Anyone.  Veronica shooting him must have done more to his heart than his arm.

He kicked her knocking her to the ground.  "No!" Ram yelled.  My vision blurred.  Did he move his arm?  Was it my heart pounding or a gunshot?  Veronica was screaming.  Not from pain though, and I couldn't make out what she was saying.  I looked back at Ram, I couldn't focus on anything.  He... is on the ground.  His varsity jacket was a deeper red.  Maybe it was just rusty water and he slipped.  Or... or... my knees buckled.  Why? Why the fuck couldn't he have shot Veronica- I mean, I... who knows where he was shot? He could... he could still be alive.  I heard another gunshot.  Probably at me since Veronica's screams weren't cut off, though I didn't feel anything.  I looked back at Veronica.  She had dropped her mallet and Jason had stomped on it.  She still grabbed the top though, throwing it at Jason.  He dropped the gun.  Veronica grabbed it.  She shot it.  Shot him.  He fell to the ground holding his hand.  She dropped the gun and ran to Ram.

"Oh my god," she sighed.  He was breathing.  He was awake.  It only got his shoulder.  Enough to make it bleed all over though.

We all walked up the stairs.  The people were all cheering.  For the wrong people though, those cheerleaders were nothing to what we had just done.  Continuing outside we all sat on the steps,  Jason following us.

I mentally sighed.  Why couldn't he just go away?

One of the bombs was strapped to his chest.  He walked down the stairs and turned around,  "Veronica, our love was God."  He pressed a button on the bomb and held out his arm.  What- wait, oh my god.  Veronica didn't look too phased though. 20 seconds.  "Our love is God."  10 seconds.  "Hope you miss me... wish you'd kiss me."   5... 4... 3...

"Say hi to God..."

Boom!  I guess the asteroid didn't make it to earth this time...
