"C'mon, you lazy bum. Wake up."

I groaned and opened my eyes to see a room I've never been in before. Sitting up, I rubbed my eyes. "You okay?" the same familiar female voice spoke. "I guess..." I mumbled, rubbing my head now, which throbbed. "Those creatures that attacked you are after the Keyblade. But it's your heart they really want because you wield the Keyblade." The name of the voice finally came to me, and I looked up and saw a flash of red hair. "I'm so glad that you're okay, Kairi." I smiled and looked at her full on. "Kairi? Who are you talking about? I'm the great ninja, Yuffie." Then her voice changed to an unfamiliar one, and I rubbed my eyes hard. When I looked again, it wasn't Kairi, but a girl I've never seen before. I must have hit my head harder than I thought.

"I think you might have overdone it, Squall." she turned around and teased the figure in the corner. I looked again, and it was my attacker from earlier. He stepped forward and uncrossed his arms. "That's Leon," he grunted. "The Keyblade..." I whispered, looking at my weapon from across the room. 'Yeah, we had to get it away from you to shake off all those creatures. It turns out that's how they were tracking you." Yuffie started pacing and waving her hand in the air like a teacher. "It was the only way to conceal your heart from them." Leon nodded. "But it won't work for long." He crossed his arms and leaned back against the wall. A door creaked open, and a female voice was heard. "Is he awake?" I knew that voice... "Lynnette!" I perked up, and she peeked her head into the room. Her green eyes lit up when she saw me. "Sora!" she ran over and hugged me tightly. I hugged her back as she whispered into my ears. "You scared me, you idiot." I laughed, and she pulled away from the hug. I smiled at her when Leon started up again. "Still hard to believe that you of all people are the chosen one." Leon picked up my keyblade in an attempt to wield it; it shimmered then disappeared. The shimmering reappeared, and the keyblade was now in my hands, making me gasp.

"He's not the only one," Lynnette spoke up and held out her hand. Swirls of purple, gold, and white surrounded her hand, and her beautiful keyblade was in her hands. "Whoa!" Yuffie exclaimed. "Wow, I thought you said she was a wizard, Leon!" "I guess not then; she used magic without the keyblade, so I assumed." Leon shrugged. "Well, I suppose beggars can't be choosers."

"Alright, so why don't you start making some sense. What's going on here?" Sora questioned with a serious tone. "I'll explain." Yuffie smiled. "Okay, so there are many worlds out there, besides your islands and even this town. But they're supposed to be a secret. They've been secret because they've never been connected until now." she explained. "When the heartless came, everything changed," Leon interjected. "The heartless?" both Sora and I asked at the same time. "The ones who attacked you, remember?" I thought about those dark beings that attacked us on the islands, and I nodded. "Those without hearts." Leon summed up. "The darkness in people's hearts, that's what attracts them." Yuffie sighed. "And there is darkness within every heart." Leon finished.

"Hey, have you ever heard of someone named Ansem?" Yuffie asked both of us. Sora shook his head. "Ansem?" I asked. "He was studying the heartless," Yuffie explained, "He recorded all of his findings in a very detailed report. Its pages are scattered everywhere." "Scattered?" Sora asked. "Too many worlds." Yuffie grimaced. "But you need a key to find them." "So, this is the key?" Sora lifted his keyblade, finally putting all the puzzle pieces together. "Exactly!" Yuffie grinned. "The heartless have a great fear of the Keyblade. That's why they'll keep coming after you no matter what." Leon snarked. "Well, I didn't ask for this." Sora shrugged. "The Keyblade chooses its master, and it chose the both of you." Yuffie looked at both Sora and I. "So tough luck." Leon waved us off. "How did all of this happen?" I asked. "I remember being in my room..." Sora started to tick off the events that happened this previous night. He gasped and stood up from the bed. "Wait a minute, what happened to our home? Our island? Riku? Kairi?" Sora started to freak out.
