"I- I don't think that is necessary father." Jane protested as Odin sat on his throne, hand on his chin and stroking his beard as he thought. "I can see why you think otherwise, and being the wife of my eldest son, and future queen of Asgard, I'll take your opinion... lightly." Odin leaned down looking at Jane as she messed with her fingers. "Otherwise, I'll have the girl be on her way." He shouted, Thor bowing and looking back up at his father. "Yes father, at once. We'll have a chamber cleaned and prepared for her arrival." He smiled and rubbed Janes back, gesturing her to follow him as they walked out.
Jane had no problem with her niece coming to Asgard, after all, she promised her sister she would take care of her when she was gone. The problem was the evil that lurked around within the walls of the palace, and that certain creep was Thor's brother Loki. After New York she stayed worried for good reason, after he tried to kill her kind and rule over them. She shuttered at the thought. She knew that Iris was an overly developed girl for her age to put it into more polite words, and she knew the child wouldn't cause any dishonor among the royal family.
However, this new coming heart that Odin has, he released Loki to be on the grounds of the palace only. He wanted both sons to converse and grow a stronger bond because he knew he was getting old, and Thor's turn to the crown wasn't far away in Asgardian terms. Janes heels clicked as she caught up with her husband, grabbing him by his arm and turning him around abruptly. "Thor, I don't think this is a good idea... Loki..." Thor held back an eyeroll and consoled his wife. "Loki has done many things, I doubt he's changed much either, but I've never known my brother to lust after children." He said kissing her on the forehead and continuing what his father asked of him.
A few hours passed, Jane stood by the room that still had servants bumbling about around it and sighed. There was only a few minutes before Iris would arrive. "I see my brother has finally talked you into a child. I wasn't expecting it this soon." Loki coughed from behind Jane making her jump. She squinted and her nose scrunched in disgust. "You better heed my warning you sliver tongue freak; you once touch the girl in this room, I'll cut your tongue out myself." Jane spat making Loki laugh. "Relax love, I have no interest in children, and if she looks anything like yourself I wouldn't touch her with a twelve-foot stick." Loki hissed and walked away from Jane.
It was beyond him as of why his oaf of a brother married that woman. She was vain, and nobody saw it except for him? Nonsense! He chuckled as he made his way towards his mother's room, skillfully navigating throughout the maze of a palace before coming to an abrupt stop. He didn't remember there being a wall there. "Oh excuse me." A light voice squeaked. Nor one talking. He looked down to see a woman, her head barley passing the top of his shoulder. Her features were soft, except for her jaw, her lips plumped but not to overly big to take away the attention from any other part of her lightly bronzed skin.
Her exotic blue eyes looked back up at him, her lips slightly parted as she waited for something. "I'm terribly sorry." She spoke again, saying something similar to what he would say himself, but it was sincere. "Next time watch where you are walking." He scolded as fear flashed along her delicate face. She looked around and her mind seemed scrambled, 'Damn~' Loki thought as he cleared his throat. "You seem lost." Loki looked down at her once more, he felt drawn to look at her for reasons he couldn't name himself. "Y-Yes, I just got..." Her voice was cut off by screeching.
"Iris! Honey!" Jane ran over and snatched up her niece. "I thought the guards were escorting you to your room darling!" Jane hugged her and shot a glare towards Loki who stood emotionless. So this was her niece, this is what all the commotion was about? For one simple mortal child, pathetic. Loki stood, towering over both women, or one woman one child, he didn't know, and didn't care. "No, I just arrived and wanted to find you myself. I'm sorry Aunt Jane." Iris looked back at Loki who stood with his arms crossed, watching the reunion.
"I don't believe we've met, I'm Iris." The girl smiled at the god who flashed a smirk of his own to get under Janes skin. "We should keep it that way. Let's get going honey." Jane took Iris by her arm and made a swift exit, making sure to shoot daggers at the prince as she left. Loki rolled his eyes and continued for his mothers chambers, now curious about the new visitor. He found the door and knocked as his mother called him inside. He looked around to not find anyone present. "Mother?" He lightly called out as the queen made her way out of her private library.
