{in this part, you will be in Milo's perspective}

I walk out the school gates with Avani. I kinda like her but I'm scared she doesn't like me back. I smile at her, but wipe it away when she looks at me.
Milo- Do you want to hang out at my place tonight? Netflix and chill?
Avani- I wish I could but I can't. I have to help my sister move into her new apartment.
Milo- Oh ok. Maybe next time?
Avani- Yeah, I'd like that. Tomorrow ok?
Milo- Yes. I'll pick you up about five o'clock yea?
Avani- Sure! FaceTime me tonight?
Milo- Yea will do. See you!
Avani- Bye.

I was a bit disappointed that she couldn't hang out today but happy since she was tomorrow. I wave her goodbye as she gets onto her bus. I enter my car and drive home alone. I got home and slipped off my shoes, and ran upstairs, eager to speak to Avani.

Avani- Hey Milo.
Milo- Hey Avani.
Avani- Today was fun, especially third and fourth period.
She gave me a little smile. It took me a moment to realise but she meant she had so much with... ME! I realised it had been a few moments after she had said that and I was making this an awkward silence.
Milo- I'm glad you did. Me too to be honest.
She seems to give a sigh of relief, I don't know why. I thought to myself, 'does she like me?' 'No.' 'Will she ever?' 'No.'
Avani- Hello?
Milo- I'm really sorry, but I've got to go.
Avani- Oh ok. Text me if you can ok.
Milo- Sure! Bye.
Avani- Bye.

My phone made three beeping noises, indicating that she had hung up. When I told her I had to go, even though I didn't, she looked so sad. Oh god I hate seeing her so sad. I felt bad, since I only felt really awkward and didn't actually have to cut the call. I sighed and sat down at my desk, and completed my science homework, that was due tomorrow.

I finish my homework, close my book and go downstairs.
Milo's Mum- Hello Milo!
Milo- Hey.
Milo's Mum- What's up? I can tell something's wrong.
Milo- I like this gir-
She cuts me off.
Milo's Mum- Avani?
Milo- Yes. Anyways, I like her a lot but don't know how to tell her.
Milo's Mum- Don't worry, I'll help if you want?
Milo- What would you do?
Milo's Mum- Well, I'd give you advice on what to say and text to her. Also help you drop hints.
Milo- Ok thanks mum you're the best!
Milo's Mum- No problem sweetie.

I start to pick up confidence in myself. I go to my room and check the time on my phone.
'9:45? How is it that time already?'
I go to my bathroom and brush my teeth. I get into bed and start to watch my favourite Netflix series, Stranger Things. I find myself starting to drift off to sleep.
