She carried on to tell me, but then things got crazy.
~
Avani- I went to the park at six o'clock sharp.
First mistake made.
I walk up to him and smile.
Benji- Hello! I'm so happy you came! Care to come to my house?
Avani- Yes of course I'll come, I'd love to!
Second mistake made.
I hold his hand and walk to his house.
Benji- I'm afraid we have to go through the alley to get in through an unlocked window. My parents ditched me and I don't have access to a key.
I nod my head and follow him.
Third mistake made.

Milo- Where are you going with this?
She snaps out of her flashback.
Avani- You'll see.
                                            ~
He pulls the collar of my shirt, nearly strangling me.
Avani- That hurt.
He shrugs. I don't feel loved or safe anymore. He hits me, repetitively. I cry.
Benji- What, can't handle a beating?
I manage to get out of his grasp. I run. I run as far as I can. I lose him, thankfully.

Her voice trails off. She cries.
Avani- And then Xowie, she got abused by her mum ever since then.
Then the penny drops.
Milo- Xowie goes out with Benji.
Avani- NOOOOO
She screams it with literal pain.
Avani- She's really messed up now.
                                              ~
She cries into my hoodie. I try my best to soothe her pain.
Avani- And ever since then, I've never trusted another boy in my life, except you (now) and Noen.
Milo- Wow. I can't believe what it's been like for you. I'm so sorry.
Avani- Worry about me another day, right now we need to focus on Xowie and Xowie only.
I give into her.
Milo- Alright, whatever makes you happy.
Avani- We need to warn her bef-
Milo- I know I agreed and all but he's changed. Trust me.
Avani- Ok. But if she gets hurt in any kind of form or way, I'm blaming it on you for not letting me help.
Milo- Deal.
                                               ~
I knew Benji inside out. He isn't like that, not one bit.
                                              ~
She started to snuggle into me, so I did it back. She kissed me for a couple seconds, then stopped.
Avani- I really have to go now. Today was great, even though our plans didn't really go through.
I beam a charming smile at her.
Milo- Glad you enjoyed it. I sure did, every single minute.
She comes towards me and pecks a kiss on my lips. She attempts to pull away but I didn't let her. I grabbed her waist and pulled her down.
Avani- Baby what are you doing?
I stop, shocked.
Milo- Did I just hear what I think I heard? You're over your fear?
She nods.

We start to kiss again, stronger this time. I double check my blinds were closed, thank god they were. We started to get a little rowdy, then we heard someone knocking on the door.
Milo- Crap.
Avani straightens up her hair, since it was quite messy. To my surprise she was the one who answered the door. I follow her down.

When she saw who it was she jumped into my arms, in shock and fright.
Avani- Stay away from me Benji, please.
I go in front of her, she still held me tight, scared that something would happen.
Milo- Well well well, look who it is. The man who hurt my one and only.
Benji- I just wanted to talk to her, and only her.
                                           ~
She let's go of me, and walks right up to Benji.
Avani- Why on earth did you turn up here?
Benji- I knew you'd be here, since you two are a thing now.
Avani- HOW DO YOU HAVE THE GUTS TO SHOW UP HERE? HUH? HOW COULD YOU SHOW UP HERE TO SEE ME, AFTER EVERYTHING YOU'VE DONE TO ME. IT'D BE A GOOD IDEA TO LEAVE. NOW!
Benji- I understand babe-
I give him the deadliest stare I've ever gave anyone in my whole life.
Milo- DON'T CALL HER BABE. IF SHE'S ANYONES BABE SHE'S MINE. SAY WHAT YOU WANT TO SAY AND LEAVE!
Benji- Ok. I want to say this.
He turns to Avani, looking sincere.
Benji- I'm sorry ok. I'm sorry. I never intended to hurt you, believe me I didn't. I just want you to know I still love you. I always will.  And as much as you hate the thought of this, I will never stop loving you, ever.
                                             ~
She backs away, having flashbacks as she does.
Avani- No you don't, you are a liar. I only hang out with you at school for the others, and I can swear by that, and I will if I need or have to.
Benji- Look I'm trying to get over you ok. I swear I'm trying. Even though I still have feelings for you, I love Xowie too. I promise I'll never come back into your life, I will try my hardest. I promise.
Then he turns to me.
Benji- Take good care of her ok. She's like a blessing. If you ever hurt her, you'll know about it when I come knocking at your door again.
                                              ~
He turns away from us, and walks down the drive. We slam the door shut. I turn to Avani.
Milo- Are you ok?
Avani- No.
She runs to me and hugs me.
Avani- Promise me this. You'll never do what he did. You'll never hurt me. You'll never betray me. You'll never trick me to do anything. Promise me that.
Milo- I promise I won't, and I never will.
She hugs me tight.
                                               ~
I pick her up in my arms and carry her to my room.
Avani- Is it ok if I stay here for the night?
Milo- You're more then welcome.
We both snuggle up in bed, sharing the sheets and fall asleep.
