Chapter 2

Harry’s POV

“Look daddy! Uncle Zayn got me a fire engine!” Aiden smiled excitedly, holding the toy car up in the air.

“I see, very cool, did you say thank you?” I asked. Aiden nodded and then continued unwrapping the gifts that surrounded him. It was his third birthday party, and he was being spoiled to death by all his ‘aunts and uncles.’

Almost four years had passed since I met Clementine, and three since our darling baby boy was born, I wouldn’t trade any of it for the world.

I’ve been asked on countless occasions if I would take away what Louis did, if I could, but the answer is still the same as it’s always been. No. Because then I wouldn’t have Aiden.

Niall bumped my arm, taking me from my thoughts. He handed me a beer before sitting next to me on the back patio, as we watched our sons chase one of the poor girls Clementine had invited from Aiden’s preschool.

“If I ask you something, will you answer it honestly?” I questioned, my eyes never leaving Aiden.

“Of course, mate.”

“Is it ever hard for you to love Ethan?”

Niall silently shook his head before speaking up. “No, I mean, yeah, he looks nothing like me and everything like Louis and El, but no.”

I nodded in reply, taking another swig of my drink.

“Is it for you?”

“No, I love him as if he was actually mine, he is actually mine.” I corrected myself. “It is hard sometimes for Clementine though, not to love him, but just sometimes when she sees him she sees Louis instead, and she kind of freaks.”

“Eleanor does that too.”

“Do you think they will ever stop?” I asked. By now the party had ended, everyone had left minus the normal gang.

Niall let out a loud sigh “I don’t know.”

“Daddy, I think something’s wrong with mommy.” Ethen said, crossing his little arms over his chest.

“Why?”

“She won’t move.”

We both stood to our feet and ran into the house; stopping at once we were in the living room.

Eleanor and Clementine were sitting on the couch, the color drained from their faces as Zayn, Liam and his girlfriend tried comforting them.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, scooping Aiden into my arms.

Without saying a word Clementine pressed rewind on the TV, before pressing play again.

“We interrupt this program to bring you this breaking news story, former singer of the band One Direction, Louis Tomlinson, has been released early from prison for good behavior. Louis Tomlinson didn’t have much to say to the cameras, but what he did say we got on tape.”

“I plan on picking up where I left off, I’ve been told I have two baby boys to get back to.” He smiled, making me clinch my fists together.

“I hope to pick up exactly where I left off.” He said again “Being with Eleanor, having a family with my sons, being part of One Direction again.”

“This was filmed yesterday when Tomlinson was released, tomorrow the rest of One Direction will be on The London Insider, tune in for more information.”

“Daddy, who was that?” Aiden asked, his hands playing with my curls.

“Nobody, son. You and Ethan go play in your room for a moment.” I set him down and he and Ethan took off running.

I instantly grabbed Clementine; she was silent, just starring off into space.

“I promise I won’t let him get to you, or Aiden.” I whispered.

“How can you promise that?” She asked silently.

“I just can.” I replied, kissing her forehead. She nodded silently.

The room grew completely silent when there was a knock on the door.

“Harry.” Clementine whispered, scooting away and grabbing Eleanor’s hand.

“I’ve got it.” I replied, ushering for the boys to follow.

We each slowly tiptoed to the door, I felt like a scardy-cat as I opened the door.

“Hello boys, long time no see.”
