We Meet Again.

Chapter 2

Every step I take forward anxiety builds up in my chest. I can do this. I can do this. My palms sweaty,breathing uneven...what could be worse then this? Oh right, Him.

Here I am walking into the devils hell.

Knight Enterprise has been around way longer than I have. Its a 'hand me down' company. 200 years old to be exact. What exactly do they sell? Just about any weapon you can and can't get your hands on. The equipment is usually sold into the Military bases, to government officials. You could say that Knight Enterprise has his hands dirty. I would know, I mean I was engaged to the present CEO, not to mention I was his secretary. Meaning I knew when every deal was made and what went down.

So what the hell am I doing as the CEO of Delgado Corps.? I guess you could say that I am the link to keeping everyones dirty life to a minimum. What I say goes, simple as that.

Which leaves me as to why I am about to have a meeting with the Knight.

"Ms.Delgado, Mr.Knight has been expecting you." A tall blonde says from behind her desk. Im assuming shes the new assistant. 

"Im sure he has." I say a fake small playing on my lips.

Following behind Ms.FakeTan, or was it TallBlonde? I don't remember.  Anyways Lilia gave me a look that said it all. She knew I wasn't up to see him, but she knew I was tougher than a nail beaten by a hammer.

It's been 6 years since I've seen him. In person I should say. Somehow a billboard of his fake smiling face got plastered right infront of my old apartment. The year after we ended things between us. Hah! How cliché really. But looking at him only reminded me why I was working so hard to destroy him in the first place.

"Here we are Ms.Delgado." The blonde pushed the door open that led into an office. On instinct my jaw and eyes hardened and the smell of his familiar cologne. Sad I still remember his scent. To think it was the scent I once loved being surrounded by, has turned my nose up into disgust.

Walking in with Lilia right behind me, a tall broad shouldered man with short black hair stood looking out the large window, back towards me. It has me wondering what he's thinking.

Lilia clears her throat to call the attention of...

"Well if it isn't Victoria Delgado. " A smirk played on his dark features. His eyes held no shine in them as he reached out his hand for me to shake.

"It's been a while hasn't it, Matthew Knight?" My eyes went cold once they held his glare. And our hands tightened around eachother,  hard enough for us to both release and wipe the sweat of the others palm on something other than ourselves.

"Too long." Matthew says.

"What is it you called me for after all these years? Have I got you scared Mr.Knight?" I said all the while throwing a smirk right back at him.

"You couldn't possibly be able to scare me Victoria." He said.

"It's Ms.Delgado. Nothing more, nothing less." I stated.

"Of course."

"So are we going to continue with your game or are we going to get to business?" I asked already getting irritated.

"Yes. A seat?" He pointed and I took a seat in the chair infront of his desk.

"I wanted to talk to you about making an agreement." He said.

"What Kind of agreement?" I asked.

"You know exactly what kind of agreement I'm talking about."

"No I can't say I do."

"You worked for this company for 7 years. You know everything that goes down in it and you know exactly what I don't want being found out." He said voice hard.

"Its been 6 years Matthew what exactly does go down in your business now a days?"

"We're just here today to make sure that none of the stuff 'we used' to do gets out and into the paper somehow."

"I'll think about it but for now I want you to sit here and worry about what I'm going to let get out and what won't get out." I stood up from the chair with a smile plastered on my face. "We can talk more later but I have a book signing to go to right now."

"Victoria?" He called, while I was about to walk out his office door.

"By the way, I'll be setting the terms for our agreement. If you don't like them, I guess you will just have to deal with it." I stated then walked out.

"Good bye Mr.Knight." Lilia said, before shutting his door.
