Ali POV
I woke up to punches from Eric. As soon as I open my eyes I'm thrown off of my bed and across the room. As much as I wanna stand up I don't, I stay put. Don't scream, don't cry, don't retaliate. Don't scream, don't cry, don't retaliate. The words echo in my head. If you show that I'm in pain it won't stop. If you stay strong he'll get bored. You want him to get bored. Go to your place, go to your place, go to your place. Think these things until I get there. I think of a memory, a happy memory.
Flashback to the month after she got adopted I finally go out and explore the neighborhood. I'm playing outside when a blonde haired girl and a brown haired boy walk over to me. "Hi I'm Ali, what's your name?" I ask. "I'm Ethan, that's Maya," the boy said. Ringggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!
Flashback over
I'm pulled out of my memory by my phone. I look at myself in the mirror. I have bruises everywhere I have to cover them. I look at my phone. Great, a FaceTime call from Maya. I can't answer it. Instead I put on makeup. I use it to cover up all my visible scars. I then sneak out of the house. I recently chopped off a lot of my hair because Eric had thrown knives at me and it ended up cutting some of my hair. To hide the abuse Alice made her personal stylist cut my hair and also stab me with scissors and burn me with a straightener. I run to the window after grabbing my stuff, making sure to leave it open just enough for me to get back in that way, and changing clothes then I leave.

I FaceTime Ali on my neighbor's phone. She didn't answer. I leave her a message. "Hey Ali, this is Maya, can you please answer this when you get the chance," I say before hanging up. Every time she was around me I feel like she was hiding something. I know what it's like to hide stuff. My dad used to abuse me when I was little, then my mom found out and sent him away. "Maya!!" My neighbor yelled, "you're gonna be late!!" I run out the house and leave the phone.

I'm with one of my friends, as we had a sleepover

I'm with one of my friends, as we had a sleepover. "Heather we have to go," I say. (A/N Chloe East is playing Heather Delucca.) We quickly get dressed and run to get to school. "So how's it going with your sister?" Heather asked. "She's not my sister, we didn't adopt her it's just a placement until someone does adopt her, which just isn't working so well right now." I say more for myself then anyone else. "You don't like her?" Heather asked. "I just don't want the daughter of a dead hispanic drug addict/drug dealer living with me anymore," I explain. "I get it, I'm honestly shocked you guys took her," Heather says. "Mom was determined to adopt but she's a brat and now we have to wait till someone else wants her watch better happen before she ages out," I say as we walk into the school. In the middle of Mr. Matthews' class Aliyah got called into the office and was told to bring her stuff. I was shocked because mom and dad never took her out of school but maybe it was a meeting or something.
