Ali, the Goddess, and the toys started towards the house, which included a dark portion that was shadowed by trees. Goblins ran after them. They were extra angry because Ali and her team had gotten to their queen, They were fiercely loyal.
"Oh no," Pippy cried out. "they're back and I don't have bullets left."
A goblin reached up and got a hold of one of Amos' feathers but he was saved by Sandy the Ragdoll. "I've been sitting next to you on the shelf for years and never knew you were so clever. Hoo." Owl thanked the Ragdoll.
"All's clear," Ultraman announced. "Oops, maybe not because there's a goblin on my tail."
Pippy was in the action. "Turn on the bedroom light and the goblins will flee. Climb up to the light switch when we get there."
"I have to be quiet up the steps or I'll wake my father and we know that he won't understand." Ali led as the toys crept behind. "Why do we have to be in the house for the ritual."
The Goddess smiled. "Love Ali. You have love in this house and the energy is what we depend on. Your parents love and support one another and you have certainly proved your love for Gabby. Evil cannot penetrate love and that has been true for centuries."
"I wasn't sure we could get out of the yard at such an early hour. My Mother leaves for work early and likes to step out back while sipping her coffee. My Dad gets up early too and starts his architecture stuff. Here's my room." Ali gestured towards her door and the toys filed in. All the toys except for Ultraman who was still carrying Gabby, climbed onto the shelves and left the work to Sola.
The room was dark and filled with goblins. They were hissing and snarling in a way that made Ali shudder.
"The lights Ali – turn on the lights," The Goddess demanded. With a flip of the switch, the goblins scattered. It was the one sure way to get rid of the goblins.
Ultraman tucked Gabby into the bed and brushed aside a piece of her ginger hair. He went up to join the other toys. They were happy to rest because it had been quite an odyssey.
"Goddess, I don't mean to put myself before Gabby but can you please make me regular size again. Gabby too while you're at it. Even turning on the light was difficult because I had to scale the dresser as if it were Mount Everest," Ali pleaded.
"That's easy Ali and the least I can do after all you've been through." The Goddess smiled and with a wave of the wand, Ali and Gabby were no longer doll-sized.
It felt funny when Merlin made Ali small and the same sensation was present when she grew to regular size. "Ah, thank-you. Being small was good for a bit but I like my normal size. All you have to do is wave your wand one more time and this whole thing is finished – right?" Ali asked.
As she spoke the Shadow Queen stormed in even though the sun was rising. She had gained so much power that she could exist in the sunlight. It seemed that she was more powerful than the Fairy Goddess. A flicker of her claw-like fingers forced Sola to her knees.
Turning to Gabby, the evil queen intended to take the last of Ali's sisters soul. Ali thought of how a quarrel between sisters had resulted in years of turmoil. She loved Gabby and that was not going to happen to the Bailey sisters.
"You think you know everything," The evil Shadow Queen snarled. "I will teach you a lesson because I'm about to take everything left in this helpless little sister of yours"
Claws raised, the Shadow Queen was ready to deal the final blow when Ali covered her sister. The sparks like lightning bolts bounced off Ali and went back to the evil queen. Her black eyes widened and she began to shrink. It was as if she was a melting candle.
"No, no no," the evil queen cried out as she turned to a pile of powder. As she turned to a pile of dust the Sola stood up.
"My sister?" Sola asked.
"She's gone. I'm sorry," Ali said sheepishly.
"Luna left me long ago. But your sister is here and I think you both deserve a hug."
"I still don't get it."
"Ali, it's about love. It's the most powerful energy in the world. Nothing is more powerful. When you sacrificed yourself for Gabby, you created a force that even dark magic could not penetrate. It shielded her and caused Luna's magic to backfire."
"Will the goblins come back with their black magic? They might be extra mad because I made their queen a pile of dust."
"No Ali. They have no strength over love. Gabby will be brought out of the dream realm that she was put in if you do one thing."
"What's that?" Ali asked the Goddess.
"Give her a warm hug and a sisterly kiss."
Ali lifted her young sister into her arms a squeezed tight.
Gabby rubbed her eyes and yawned.
"I had the strangest dream," she said.
Ali smiled.
"I'm sorry for taking your toys without permission," Gabby said.
"It's okay, Gabby." A tear streamed down Ali's cheek. I'm not mad one bit," Ali said.
Gabby stretched. "I had a funny dream, Ali. I was held captive and you saved me, along with a bunch of toys."
"That must have been some dream." Ali looked up to the shelf and Ultraman winked.
