Office Work

Request:  So, I'd like to suggest a Bernice x Reader, where the reader is a secretary for JJ. Basically they schedule his meetings, people who aren't on his good side, co-workers and so forth. The reader and Bernice know each other, of course, through JJ and his meetings. The reader has found Bernice alluring for quite a while but doesn't think that she would reciprocate their feelings, and therefore doesn't make a move until a few months of strangely common meetings and interactions. That's all I've got from there, so if you want to play around with it and such, go ahead!

So because of the controversy regarding clapdaddie, I will no longer be writing about JJ in any of my stories. I will substitute JJ in this story for Frenchie. I love writing about Bernice, since she is such an interesting character!

The everyday work activities for (Y/N) consisted of many interesting people and scary occurrences. (Y/N) works as a secretary for the mafia boss Frenchie. Scheduling meetings, organizing paperwork, and answering various phone calls can make (Y/N)'s day either a good one or a bad one. 

They have witnessed many people walk into Frenchie's office and never walk out. They thought to mention it to Frenchie, but thought otherwise since the last secretary that did that well... he wasn't seen again. Besides the (Y/N) was told by Frenchie on their first day of the job that she did not want them to be involved in the mafia since it was dangerous and they could get hurt.

Today was an ordinary day since Frenchie was just meeting with her co-workers Bernice, 86, and the Croes brothers. 

"Good morning Frenchie!"

"Good mornin' doll!"

(Y/N) usually didn't ask Frenchie what meetings were about, since their job was just to schedule them, not ask. But, the mafia boss wanted her secretary to know so (Y/N) was aware that the meeting was about the large increase in members coming into the mafia and figuring out where to put them all.

Everything would be perfect if it weren't for just one thing. Remember when Frenchie told (Y/N) not to be involved in the mafia. Well, a certain secretary may have a little crush on the sassy Bernice.

(Y/N) originally did not have a crush on Bernice, but saw them as an acquaintance. Someone to make small talk within between meetings and casual nods of hello whenever they walk past each other. 

Nothing. Else.

However, this relationship took a turn over the past year by Frenchie having an awfully late meeting with Zeta about turf agreements. Bernice was waiting to meet with the mafia boss about things that (Y/N) did not want to ask about.

This caused the two to spend over an hour talking about each other's interests, everyday stresses, and their friends and family. By the time the meeting ended, (Y/N) and Bernice were laughing over a joke about Bernice's pickpocketing attempt.. which failed miserably.

"Wait seriously, Bernice? And then what happened?"

"And then I reached into his pocket to notice, he's been watching me the whole time!"

The next few months passing resulted in Bernice sitting down and talking to (Y/N) before her next weekly meetings. The talks would grow from 5 minutes to 30 minutes to Bernice showing up an hour before her next meeting just so she can talk to (Y/N).

However after 5 months of this, (Y/N) realized that they felt more than a friendship with Bernice.

They loved Bernice.

(Y/N) ran back to their house after work and shut themselves in their bedroom. "Frenchie told me not to get involved with the mafia," (Y/N) thought. "Not only have I been talking to Bernice every week, but I love her."
