Alright, apparently trying to be nice to Akihiko is some weird sexual trigger... Y/n blankly stared at the cashier as his food was bagged. As Y/n paid, Akihiko grabbed the bags and they walked out together.
"I can carry one of those..." Y/n's voice trailed off at Akihiko's glare. "Well, anyway," the (h/c) boy inelegantly cleared his throat, "what do you want to do tonight?"
Akihiko stumbled over a crack in the sidewalk, "What?"
"Uh," Y/n rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, "you asked me if you could spend the night at my place, remember? So... what do you want to do? Unless you don't want to come —" Y/n began to rush out only to be resolutely cut off.
"No, I want to stay with you."
"Well, I'm glad that's settled," Y/n inwardly rolled his eyes. "Now, after dinner, what do you want to do? Watch a movie? Nothing horror though. I'm kind of horror-ed out. For like life. Know what I mean?"
Akihiko stopped walking and said, "Y/n."
Y/n stopped too and glanced at the dark-haired boy. "Akihiko," he mocked.
Akihiko's lips parted, "...No, never mind."
Then they kept walking. When they reached Y/n's apartment, the (h/c) boy proudly introduced Akihiko (as his dearest friend from school) to the police officer who was checking his apartment before night settled.
Misaki merely smiled and informed them she would be outside in the patrol car if they ran into anything that spelled trouble.
With that out of the way — Y/n constantly wondering if he should just run out there and confess everything to the police officer — the (h/c) boy set out to make dinner. When it was finished, they plopped down on the couch and hunted for a movie.
"Oh Akihiko pick that one," Y/n tugged at the other boy's sleeve when he passed over a cheesy Christmas movie.
"No."
"C'mon please?"
"No."
"Blah! How about (f/m) then?"
Akihiko exhaled. "...Would it make you happy if we watched that, Y/n?"
"Yep," Y/n said not missing a beat, completely oblivious to the gravity of Akihiko's question.
The dark-haired boy turned to look at Y/n.
"What?" he said.
The two regarded each other silently.
"Nothing," Akihiko finally responded and they both turned back to the television where Akihiko played Y/n's favorite movie.
After Y/n finished his dinner — about fifteen minutes into the movie — he slapped his stomach and moaned, "I am so full. How about you; you full?" Y/n threw an assessing look over to Akihiko's empty plate, "Did dinner taste good? Sometimes I think a food tastes good and other people think it's bland."
"It was fine, Y/n..." Akihiko softly assuaged the other boy's concerns. "Thank you for dinner."
"Sure, pal. Anytime," Y/n slapped his stomach a second and final time before he turned his attentions back to the film.
Akihiko tried to focus on the movie and in that pursuit, he failed miserably. He couldn't stop his eyes from constantly trailing back to the (h/c) boy.
...Y/n, who was totally (and obliviously) engrossed in whatever movie he was watching. Akihiko ran a hand through his hair. He was losing his mind...
When the movie ended, Y/n stood up, stretched, and then clapped his hands. "OK! I'm going to go do the dishes; why don't you go ahead and take a shower? Or not. I don't care."
And that was what they did. Y/n turned off the television, locked his apartment up tight (even though he was like: why? The biggest danger was currently inside of it), and cleaned the kitchen. Afterwards, he laid on his bed and listened to the sound of the shower's spraying water hitting the ceramic tiles.
Y/n was the first person to admit he had no idea what he was doing. Like honestly, he had no clue. Morally: he couldn't keep up a friendship with a murderer. Less morally: this was dysfunctional but Y/n was pleasantly unbothered by it.
Hmm, and that thought was a bit scary.
Maybe it was because Y/n was subconsciously in denial about who — or what — Akihiko really was. And maybe that little sob story Akihiko told him tonight... Maybe Y/n was subconsciously justifying the other boy's behavior...?
Y/n laughed, Nah...
That was just absurd.
The shower shut off and Y/n waited patiently for Akihiko to exit the bathroom. Of course, the (h/c) boy had the decency to only look above the neckline even though the other boy was only in his fudging boxers (like honestly what was that?).
"Alright, I'm going to take a shower," Y/n tucked a bundle of (sleepwear) under his armpit. "Where do you want to sleep?" he asked the other boy as he passed him, heading out into the hallway and setting himself up in the bathroom.
Akihiko followed after him, leaning against the bathroom's doorframe.
"I can always take the couch..." Y/n hedged.
"...Can I sleep in your bed —"
"Ha, I knew you were a secret whore for comfort —"
"— with you?"
Y/n blinked twice, "Wait, what?" With a brow raised comically high, Y/n asked for clarification, "You want to sleep in my bed... with me?"
"Yes," the other boy admitted softly.
Y/n squinted at himself in the bathroom's oval mirror. That's not really an odd request, is it? Considering how touch-starved his backstory made him seem...
Y/n shrugged, "Sure, I don't care. Whatever makes you happy."
Then Y/n turned around and twisted the knob, starting the shower. He promptly pushed Akihiko out and locked the door.
And don't worry, he left his phone pointedly on his bed. After a nice, hot shower, Y/n left the misty bathroom only to face the awkwardness he felt at sleeping in his bed with Akihiko. Like everything else, the (h/c) boy merely took a deep breath and rolled with it.
He slipped beneath the covers and turned off a bedside light.
"Night, Akihiko."
The other boy didn't answer. He's probably already asleep, Y/n reasoned before he turned his back to Akihiko and stared at the wall for a good half hour. Until his eyes got heavy and sleep dragged his consciousness down.
