"But father I've been asking you this for years and I'm 17 now, why won't you just let me go out to try to find out what happened to mother!" Ophelia complained as she followed her father around the castle. "I have already told you no. It is too dangerous for a princess to be out there all alone, I have already lost your mother I will not lose you as well." The king said as he turned to his daughter.
Ophelia looks at her father as she thinks of a way she can possibly convince him to let her go. "How do know mother's not still out there all we have to do is look-"
"We have looked, it's been four years since she was taken and we have spent three of those years looking for her and the people that took her and we found nothing!" The king exclaimed with a sad look. But Ophelia was convinced that she could find something because she had something no one else had."What about the necklace that mother gave me, she said it would always connect us for as long as she lives and that it will help us find each other! And ever since she was taken it's never stopped glowing. That must mean something, right?" Ophelia declared with hope in her eyes, unlike her father that had lost hope long ago.
"I know you are trying to find a way to believe and I also want to know what happened to your mother but this could just cause you more pain." Sighed the king."I don't care! I just want to find out what happened to my mother and get some closure, maybe that's why I can't control my magic no matter how much I try! Maybe it knows something is wrong and maybe while I go out and find the truth I could also find a way to control and use my abilities." Ophelia yelled looking down.
"My magic comes from my mother and this necklace was given to me by her before she was taken, maybe with these things, I can find her and finally have some answers." Ophelia holds her blue heart-shaped necklace that hangs around her neck. The king looks at her "Fine". Ophelia looks up at her father stunned. "You can go on your adventure but on one condition, with you will go the strongest and most powerful warrior we can find." The king says almost regretting is decision immediately but then is soon met with a loving hug from his daughter.
"Thank you, father, you will not regret this! I'll start packing now!" Ophelia smiles and runs happily back to her room. The king watches her, she hasn't been this happy since four years ago, it was nice seeing her smile like that again. The king then commands one of his guards to find the best warrior in all the lands that would agree to protect his beloved daughter throughout her quest.
It did not take long for the king to find someone capable of protecting his daughter. Someone that many have heard of, a very powerful warrior and her name was Allison.
The king's guards tracked her down and brought her to the castle. Although she didn't seem very pleased with the idea of following a silly little princess around, if she did agree to it she would have a good reputation with the king and get paid very well."Fine, I'll join your daughter on her quest and make sure she gets home safely." Allison agrees as she sees a small girl in a dress, with long black hair, walk down the stairs with two bags.
"Father I'm done packing wher- oh hello are you here to take my bags? They are quite heavy so-"
"I'm not here to take your bags you can do that yourself, I'm here because I have to protect you throughout your journey. " Allison spat annoyed. "Oh... So your the 'supper amazing warrior'? Huh, well you don't look like a warrior, are you sure we have the right person father? " Muttered Ophelia as she looked at Allison who gave the princess a look of pure rage."Yes, I am a warrior for your information! And if you speak to me like that again I will have no problem proving it to you in a way you will not enjoy. " Allison threatened. Ophelia felt very disrespected, no one had ever talked to her that way she was about to say something but her father interrupted.
"Well let's not start a big argument now, you girls just met and are going to be spending some time with each other so you might as well try to get along. So, Ophelia, this is Allison she is one of the most powerful warriors in all the lands, Allison this is my daughter Ophelia you will help her find out what happened with her mother and keep her safe." The king insisted as he smiled at the two girls.
Allison and Ophelia shook hands and quietly whispered sorry to each other. They all walked to the front of the castle where the horses where waiting. Ophelia strapped her things on to her horse and said goodbye to her father. "So, where are we heading princess?" Allison asked as they left the kingdom.
Ophelia looks down at her necklace "Where ever this takes us!" She exclaims smiling. Allison looks at her confused. "Oh god, this is going to be a long journey."
