A princess that just turned 17 wants to find out what happened to her mother that was taken four years ago.
Her father lets her go but only if she is accompanied by one of the best warriors of all the lands, which is another girl a few years old...
Ophelia wakes up due to the bit of light coming in through the window. Allison on the other hand is still asleep since the light hadn't reached her yet. Ophelia looks over at the sleeping warrior she actually looks relaxed for once Ophelia thought. Ophelia grabbed her book and started reading to pass the time seeing as it was early. After reading for a while Ophelia started to hear music from outside. Probably from the festival so Ophelia continues to read. After some time had passed Ophelia decided to open the curtains to let in some light.
As soon as Ophelia opened the curtains she saw something she wasn't expecting "What the heck was that!" Ophelia yells while falling to the ground. Allison immediately gets up sword in hand ready to attack any threat. She looks around but all she sees is Ophelia on the ground with an expression of complete shock. "What happened did you see a ghost or something." Allison chuckled while helping the princess get back up.
"Yeah, I did actually!" Ophelia replied. "Wait what you're serious" Allison was completely baffled so she decided to look out the window to see it for herself. She looks out to see people walking down the streets some were talking to completely gray and transparent spirits. Allison couldn't believe it, she had seen spirits before but not like this. Everyone was strangely comfortable with all of these ghosts. Allison started thinking about what could have happened that all of these spirits appeared specifically today. Ophelia hears the warrior mumble something but can't quite make it out. "What did you say?" Ophelia asked. "It's the bloody family gathering crap that girl was talking about. I'm guessing these are the dead family members of the people of this town that's why they act so naturally around them." Allison quickly explained. "Ok, so we have to go see the mage apparently they know how this whole thing works." The Princess declared remembering what ruby told them the other day.
Ophelia put on a strapless Violet dress that reached down to her knees, she had purple flats and wore her long black hair in a braid. Allison wore black pants with her leather armor vest, shin-high boots, and her sword strapped to her back. "Why don't you ever do anything with your hair," Ophelia asked. "Because there is no point and I honestly don't care much about my hair" Allison answered while grabbing her satchel. "Ok well let me do something this one time ok"Ophelia walks over to moving Allison's short light brown hair out of her face to the right and uses a clip to keep it in place and then she looks at Allison and smiles.
"Perfect! Now your hair won't get in your face and it looks nice." Ophelia giggled. Although this wasn't really Allison's style she didn't mind wearing the clip and she knew that if she took it off Ophelia would keep insisting to put it back on. "Ok, I'll keep it on. Now let's go Princess, we're wasting time." Said Allison while walking out the cottage. Ophelia followed behind the taller warrior. While walking behind her the Princess noticed a few scars on Allison's arms probably from all the fights she's been in.
"So do you actually know where we're going because I don't, " the Princess asked. "Yes I know where we're going, I try to remember what's around me and what ways to go especially in places I don't know," Allison replied They eventually got to the blacksmith store and inside there was someone wearing a mask and a long cloak, they were sharpening a pickax not noticing the two girls that just walked in. "Uhh, excuse me um are you the mage by any chance?" Ophelia asked while tapping on their shoulder. They stand up taking off their mask "Hey, I haven't seen you two around before, you must be new, well I'm Nico but you guys can call me moony. And to answer your question yes I am the mage so what can I do for you." Nico said smiling. "Oh well, im sorry if we interrupted sir bu-" "Before you continue, I actually use they/them pronouns" Nico explained. "Oh, I'm sorry I didn't mean to miss gender you. Well anyways I'm Ophelia and this is Allison, we were kind of confused on what was happening with all these spirits running around so could you shed some light on the matter." Ophelia asked then she looked back at Allison and the expression she had made the Princess worried. Allison wasn't really buying it, she's not going to trust some random stranger just from their word.
"This might sound rude but I honestly don't care, so unlike Ophelia over here im not going to blindly trust someone especially if it's a 17-year-old looking kid that could just be pretending to be the mage just to feel special." Allison hissed. "You should really put your girlfriend on a leash or she might end up messing with the wrong mage," Nico chuckled. Allison was done. "For fuck sake, she's not my girlfriend! She is some girl that's too fragile to travel on her own so I have to go with her and you, well you're just dead now because after your comment well let's just say you should take a second to appreciate your legs because you might not be using them anytime soon." Allison snapped. She tries to charge towards the kid but before she can do that Nico mumbles something under their breath.
Allison was now floating in the air not able to move as if something was gripping her body tightly. Ophelia wanted to say something but she was too scared of what either of them would say or do so the Princess just stepped out the way. "Now that you see who you're messing with I suggest you quiet the fuck down unless you want to see what I can really do." Nico threatened Allison with a sly grin. Out of all the ways Allison thought her day would go this was not one of them and she wasn't enjoying it one bit.
