A/N: Hey guys! I just wanted to let you know that in my first chapter I actually posted an author's note embedded within the chapter because I've been getting a lot of comments about the reader being "skinny" at the very beginning of the story, and I just had a little bit of an explanation as to what was going on. I'm not too sure how many of those people that commented are still reading up until this point, but if you are, or if you just felt a little bit uncomfortable about the way things happened, I'd really appreciate it if you went back and checked it out. Thank you so much to all of the support that I've been given throughout the story, and if there are anymore concerns about what I've written, please don't be afraid to let me know. <3
"And remember-"
"I know, I know, stay inside."
"I'm serious, Y/N."
"So am I!"
The Mandalorian sighed as he slowly brought the Razor Crest into a hangar bay inside of a space station, the ship rocking slightly from turbulence and in turn making your grip on his shoulder tighten. "Where's the kid?"
"Right here," you reassured him, keeping your voice soft, and he quickly checked over all of his ammo and fire power, then stood up to face you.
"If you move anywhere out in the open-"
"I'll be dead. I'm aware. I know. I won't leave. I promise."
Sighing again, he nodded, then quickly chucked under your chin and mumbled that this was a bad idea before jumping down the stairs and letting the side ramp of the ship down. He walked off slowly, keeping his posture tight as he glanced around at everything that was going on. There were multiple people at different stations welding something together, and the clatter of metal was a constant sound in his ears.
Ignoring the stares of the people all around him the bounty hunter pressed on, being acutely aware of a man that took off his face shield to look at him before he heard a familiar, gruff voice call: "Mando!"
Turning to his left the bounty hunter saw a man that was a couple inches shorter than him with a long, frizzy grey beard and hair to match that adorned a knowing grin on his face. "Is that you under that bucket?" he smiled, sticking out his hand.
"Ran," the Mandalorian nodded, shaking it firmly.
"Didn't really know if I'd ever see you in these parts again - good to see you," Ran chuckled, raising a hand to pat the bounty hunter's shoulder. "You know, to be honest, I was a little surprised when you reached out to me. You know, cuz I... I hear things. Like, maybe things between you and the Guild aren't workin' out."
He quirked his eyebrow. You'd think that word would spread around a goddamn galaxy a lot slower. "I'll be fine."
Ran hummed. "Okay. Well," he shrugged. "You know the policy. No questions. And you, you're welcome back here anytime." Internally, the bounty hunter chuckled. No he wasn't.
Ran led them up a couple flights of stairs towards a catwalk and slowly began walking across it, though the Mandalorian wasn't really into the small talk Ran was providing. "So what's the job?" he finally asked.
"Yeah, one of our associates ran afoul of some competitors and got himself caught," Ran sighed, resting his hands on his hips. "So I'm puttin' together a crew to spring him. It's a five person job, I got four. All I need is the ride... and you brought it."
