Full of bright and miniature lights stringed throughout the streets, Taehyung kicked the concrete pavement with the bottom of his black sneaker, while he adventured the streets of the city of Seoul.
His brown beady eyes searched through each and every big, flashy, shop display window. Which featured the most common and ordinary gifts and presents for the holidays.
Taehyung wanted to find something special. Different. Maybe something a little bit strange. He wanted to discover a gold treasure underneath the dusty shelves. A hidden gem, in a place nobody else even cared to look through. It's not only what's on the front entrance displays that fit to be the perfect, spectacular present for someone.
An item that would be a resemblance and generous reminder to all the cherished memories in the past year. The future isn't everything. After all, we all need to take a break or some time to look back and rewind on what we should be grateful for.
None of the exterior designs of the shops stood out to the boy roaming the sidewalks. The windows with holiday decorations that were too bright and vibrant for his taste. At this point, vivid and lively colors almost sickly, blinded him wherever he went, since stores basically held the same basic holiday criteria.
The shops seemed to be more fed up in the stacks of cash they would receive, than the actual holiday of giving, to appreciate special ones. Their stores were full of supposedly amazing deal stickers, bakery overly sweet, cinnamon scents, and flashy red and green everywhere you turned. Maybe they even counted the amount of rings they receive at the cashier counter for an extra Christmas bonus.
Most people would be all over the sales, snatching as many gingerbread candles as they could fit in their arms, but the sales had never appealed Taehyung. It wasn't about the money for him, it was about what it truly meant to him. It's significance to him, would determine and come to the value of the item's worth.
Taehyung continued to pass by the several stores with larger sale signs, then the money they had in their pockets, with no shop catching his eye in particular. He looked down at the tiled, stone ground in disappointment, while exhaling a cold puff of breath.
This had to be special. Everything had to be perfect for Jungkook, because pure perfection was truly what the brown haired, bunny boy deserved. The gift would be like a polaroid camera to capture this beautiful year. Date and save it into the photo book.
They had met through friendship, and none of them had saw this coming, where they would be happily in love with each other. Life is an adventure, whether you want to ride along or not. Both Taehyung and Jungkook went along with the wind where life lead them to, and this was the result.
The night had slowly seemed to have overcome the daytime, as the sky's hues of red, orange and pink, has disintegrated to a beautiful blanket of dark blue. Taehyung's phone buzzed in his jacket pocket, as he stopped to a halt at the stop light.
His phone flashed a notification box, with the green message icon toward the left. Curious, Taehyung quickly unlocked and opened his phone. To find a worried text from Jungkook, upon when he was going to be home considering the time.
Bunny💞💜 :
Are you coming home soon? His eyes quickly adverted to the right hand corner to the time. It was already eight thirty. The ash gray haired boy, had told Jungkook that he would be home later than usual. By saying he would be helping his best friend, Park Jimin, move in with his boyfriend's apartment who was named Min Yoongi.
Taehyung was a little upset he couldn't fulfill his goal today. Nonetheless, determined something would cross his mind tomorrow, which would help him seek the perfect surprise present. Or he might ask Jimin to give him some guidance, as he was most likely purchasing a gift for his boyfriend as well.
I'll be home soon bunbun! <3
Taehyung smiled before tapping the send button, as he put his phone back into his warm, fuzzy coat. Then, at the corner of his peripheral vision, he spotted a small, strangely dark store. Almost like orange fire being enlighten with it's embers from a pile of sticks for a cozy, housewarming campfire.
He could feel the energy in himself, bursting up with happiness and the possibility of a little something something was giving him that feeling. His eyes lit up, brimmed with hope and amazement. Taehyung even surprised himself, as it wasn't like he lit a matchstick to make this fire. It was all of his doings.
It stood out to him, since it seemed quite abandoned and tiny, compared to the brightly lit, obnoxiously big bold stores next door. It seemed to be open for customers though, with a smaller wooden sign that read, 'welcome' in red cursive on the rickety, wooden door.
It's display window was also not typical for the holidays. In fact, it displayed smaller, unique items and a few deals, which was interesting since all the other stores at the moment had sales left and right and more than they could count on their fingers.
Though, the store was across the street and the items were small so Taehyung couldn't quite identify them all as they all looked like blob of geometric shapes connected together. Some objects were shiny, some were rusty but either way it had caught Taehyung's attention.
And that was what mattered.
The light at the end of the tunnel.
His eyebrows furrowed, and curiosity was so close to taking the best of him to ditching his plans. However, his head thought better of it to check it out tomorrow morning before heading to his workplace.
Plus, he didn't want his little bunny boy to wait any longer at home all alone.
He walked back to his house while listening to some of his favorite Kpop artists in his earbuds, including admittedly, Twice and Red Velvet. Taehyung hummed to the light and peaceful music as he soon reached home, turning his silver key into the lock.
The time now was pretty late, as the stars had revealed it's true brightness and luminosity, twinkling in the far distance. They were laced with a line of white, and the moon was as round and magnificent as ever. If the night sky was this pretty, wonder what the entire spiral galaxy with billions and billions of stars would look like.
Taehyung was greeted at the door, by his lovely, coffee browned hair boyfriend waving at him with a bunny toothed smile. Instantly like magic, the older's heart was warmed, like a swirled cup of hot chocolate and sugary, fluffy marshmallows.
"TaeTae!"
