Little Lady

It was a clear day in Paris. Or, would have been, if not for the shards of glass flying everywhere.

"Come out, come out, wherever you are! I've got a very special client that simply must have his jewelery!"

Thanks to the actions of one incredibly regretful budding fashion designer, there was now a crazed supervillain causing a storm of glass to rain down on Paris.

Marinette was trapped. There were far too many people behind the collapsed counter with her for her to even consider transforming.

She searched her mind for an excuse while the villain continued her deranged monologue:

"Ministone has a very special surprise waiting for you! Ladybug, Chat Noir!"

Alya was desperately trying to get a good view with her phone camera.
"Hey, M, mind moving over?"

"No! Alya, there's glass everywhere!" She clung to her friend, as if trying to pull her down.

"Back here! Come on, stop it!" A hole had formed in the back, and everyone sans Marinette climbed through.

Now's my chance! She realized, pulling the clasp on her purse.
"TIKKI, SPOTS--"

"What have we here? A little diamond in the rough? Oh, no! It's the little designer who ruined my opal! How the tables have turned!"
Marinette cursed silently. She wasn't able to transform right here. She began crawling backward.

"Oh, no, no, no! Don't go anywhere, you little necklace killer! I've got a treat for you!" That was when Ministone grabbed Marinette and enveloped her in a warm, white light.

"NO!" Marinette cried, falling to the floor, which was now.....the distance of the Montparnassse Tower?!

"She can shrink things?!" She was caught in the large palm of her assailant, before being placed under a glass jar.

"Now stay put, dear. I've got a custom order that needs fullfilling!" The villain used the counter as a sort of springboard, and pierced the roof.

"Ministone?! That's your name? Really? I'd say Hawk Gramps is losing his luster!" There was a familiar voice.

Twirling his baton, her leather clad partner had appeared to taunt the villain.

"His ring! Take it!" The purple insignia appeared on Ministone's face, and she abruptly shook her head.

"Come here, you mangy thing! I'm in need of a very special item!" She lunged for him.

"Yeah, sorry, can't help you with that! But you can tell Hawk Moth that the layaway's closed!" He traveled to higher ground, all the while smirking.

"Where are you, Ladybug???"

"I guess this one's yours. Good luck, kitty." Marinette said more to herself than anyone, as she began to push the cup. This would be a long ride.

More sounds of shattered glass, puns, and banter filled the air around her.

"Ooh, is that made of obsidian?" Ministone's voice lilted as she gripped Chat Noir's tail.
"Whatever it is, it's mine!"

"Can't tell you that for sure, but we can make an exchange!" The feline kicked the villain right between the neck and chest, causing the infected necklace to shatter. With it, a corrupted butterfly emerged.

"Cataclysm!" He wrapped a fist around the butterfly, allowing the charred bits to fall.

"Shame Milady wasn't here to see this. Could really use her cure right about now."

After Chat had escorted the jewelery store worker home, he returned to the store itself.

"Hello? Anyone still here?"

Marinette was still making a feeble effort to push the glass, when she heard his voice. She stopped in her efforts to stare.

"Hey there, purr-incess. Looks like the akuma got you, huh?" He freed her from the prison, cupping her in the palms of his hands.

"Don't just stand there punning, isn't there some way you can put me back?!" She demanded.

"Not that I know of, but we do have to get you somewhere safe."

"Like my house?"

"I don't think that's doable. Your parents are bakers, it's a warzone for you there." He paused to think about it. "Buuut, I do know someone who can keep you company, at least till Ladybug can fix this."

"What?! I have to go home!" There would be no Ladybug to fix this mess unless she could leave.

"Sorry, we can't do that. Looks like you're stuck with him, huh, Little Lady?" He poked her pigtail with a claw.

"They won't...hurt me, will they?" She asked. She may as well get to know the person she'd be stuck with for the forseeable future.

"No, don't worry. You'll be safe with him." Somehow, being vaulted with Chat was less scary when she was smaller.

"Who is it..?" The question proved useless as he climbed through a very familiar window.
"W-why here...? This...this is Gabriel Agreste's house!"

"I wouldn't let him lay a finger on you. You know his son, don't you?" He had eased Marinette onto the piano.

"Y-you mean Adrien...? I'm...familiar with him---do you mean you're giving me to him?!"

"Yeah, don't worry, princess! Hopefully, Ladybug can sort this out soon enough!" And with that, he left her to wait.

And wait.

And wait.....
