Marinette?!

It was well into the night and Adrien had finally fallen asleep.
He turned onto his side, and would've found his face pressed into something else entirely.

In a delirious murmur, he opened his mouth spoke into the satin under his face.
Though something else had gotten into his mouth entirely.

She awoke with a start.

"Huh?! Wait...what?" She was confused at first, and then she considered the possibility.

"No...it couldn't possibly... I'm just dreaming...it'll be gone when I wake up..."

It was then, in his steady breathing patterns, that he swallowed.
It went unnoticed by the both of them.

Until about an hour later, when Adrien stirred.

He blinked, sitting up.

"...Marinette?" He decided it'd be best to check on her.
The makeshift bed he'd constructed was empty, however.

"She..she's fine. She's fine. Right..?

Marinette?"

There was no response.

He abruptly pulled himself from the bed to search for her.
"Something could've happened..."

"Marinette???" Still no response. Had she fallen asleep somewhere else?

"Marinette???" It was starting to get worrying. He was responsible for her safety.

"Marinette?!" He called, louder this time. Still, nothing. Even after checking the most likely places for her to be.

"Marinette?!" He'd checked the entire bedroom and not a sign of her. She'd disappeared completely.
That...couldn't end well.

He decided to check the bed he'd made for her again. Probing through it, he noticed a dampness in a small area.

He began to take it apart to see if she was further in it.

No luck.

She'd vanished.

"Plagg, wake up!"

"What time is it?"

"Not important, Marinette's gone!"

"Gone?! What do you mean, gone? Humans don't just disappear!"

"Well, she did! And I already checked the entire room! She's just completely gone!"

Human and kwami did a second run-through.

"Nothing! Not a trace! See what I mean?" He was trying not to panic.

"Okay, so she's either dead, or she left."

"She can't be dead!"

"Go back to sleep, you'll find her in the morning."

"...You're probably right."

Adrien eased himself back into bed, still deeply worried about his friend.

It was then that Marinette stirred in her sleep.
"...wha...?"
