Chapter 3

"Hnng.. "

I moaned and rubbed my eyes by the sound of Kida rattling at the door connected to my room.

"WAKE UP, WILL YA?", he blurted out and came bursting in through the door.

A few years had past ever since we had first met. I am so grateful to them for taking me in.

But.. Why would they take in a stranger like me?

I grinned at Kida,

"Good morning. "

He stood there staring at me for a few seconds.

Slowly, his mouth started to form that usual smile that I was used to seeing from Kida.

"Hurry up 'n get ready!"

"Okay, okay... In a... Few seconds..."

"NO! Now."

He proceeded to walk closer to my bed where I was laying.

"Heh.", his eyes had a glint of mischief in them as he bowed down at the tip of the bed, held the sheets..

"K-kida, what are y- "

... And he then swiftly pulled them off of the bed.

A sudden, cold breeze attacked my half-naked buddy and i instinctively held my.torso with both arms and withdrew my legs towards my chest.

"KIDA!!", I cried out.

Swinging the sheets over his shoulder, he started to walk back out.

Without looking back at me, he chuckled.

"Don't be late for ya first lesson. Hehe!"

I stared at him whilst he was walking out the door.

"F-First lesson?"

Later that morning I had found a note on the table in the kitchen. It was from Kida.

'... meet me by the riverside close to Odalia Village'

this must be about the training?

I packed some apples with me so we would atleast have a small snack on our way.

I was able to spot him from quite a distance. The closer I came towards the river, the faster I walker until it came to a sort of runnig pace.

"Look at ya, breathin' all heavy 'n stuff! Haha" , he grinned with his hands on his hips. "I knew you were out of shape."

"Hey! I'm perfectly fine the way I am now!"

He raised an eyebrow, " Ya think? Ya got wings 'n ya can't even fly."

I looked away and whispered to myself "... atleast I got wings"

Amusingly he teased, "A genius can never surpass a hard working man."

I smiled.

He walked towards some gear he had prepared and started searching for something.

"Here" ,

he handed what appeared to be a crystalized pendant to me,

"Take it"

I reached my hand for it and accepted it.

"What is this for?", I asked.

He stopped further searching, looked at me and smiled, "... ya will see.."

"Are you artistic, Myr?"

"Myr?..." I wondered.

"Ya. That's the name mother and I decided to give ya. You're a miracle. Myracle. Hehe.. has a nice ring to it."

He looked at me intensely ".... Quit smilin' will ya?", and patted my head.

"So are ya artistic?"

Hesitantly I replied.. "I am not sure.. I have no genuine experience in the arts. "

"GEK. WELL... I guess it sgouldnt be a problem.. ya will get it either way." he held a piece of chalk towards me " All ya gotta do is draw a pentagram ... for now."

"BUT BEFORE THAT... "

"Myr... have you ever heard of a portal?"

"... I read a book about them Eva gave me once."

"...Good... Ma thought of everything... Ahh! Oh yeah. Take this with you as well." he handed a book to me. It was mainly out of old leather and had metal rims. Also a lock that was missing a key.

"What am I to do woth this?"

"Ya're to nosy.... Ya will see when the time comes."

He grabbed into his pocket inly to pick out another piece of chalk.

"Repeat after me." ..he started to draw on the rocky ground.

One line... two ines... three.... AHH and now a circle.

Everything happened too quickly at that point. Everything aroung me became blurry. Was I this fragile? The scenery changed. Where am I?

I looked around. standing in the midst of a rather shallow, crystal clear lake. There were 5 rivers that led into the lake. Each having a gate that looked like a.. portal?

Now it hit me.

I'm at a portal base.

How is this possible? Only a very selected few can travel between worlds... Also it is somewhat... illegal.

What was Kida planning...?

....

That same moment a tall figure jumped from a portal and dashed towards me, covering my mouth, carried me and hid behind a tree. Seconds later, funny-looking beings came forth from the same portal he had come from.

"I'll kill you if you make a sound." , the figure whispered into my ear.
