Charlie and Mabel were average girls in the 7th grade. They were smart and had almost all their classes together. They were almost inseparable. Charlie was an extroverted, mischievous girl with green eyes and wavy hair that fell just past her chin. Mabel was a cheerful, quiet girl with straight, light blonde hair that went half way down her back and bright blue eyes. They also had an awful Magic's teacher.

"She's the definition of a mean teacher" Charlie said to their group of friends. "Yeah, she's awful and we have to go on that field trip with her!" exclaimed one of their friends. Each year through middle school, 6th through 8th grade, every kid in Magic's class had to go on a week long field trip to learn more about different Magic's and how normal people interacted with them. It was mandatory since it was almost fifty percent of their grade. If they can't go, they have to write a ten page essay about whatever they were learning beforehand. Most kids chose to just go on the field trip.

"Ms. Walston?" asked a kid. He was the smartest kid in the grade and could be stuck up at times, but they accepted him. "I like her, sure she's a bit stern, but besides that she's amazing." he said. All the other kids looked at him like he was insane. "What?" He said, they ignored the last statement and went on with their break time.

It was the middle of the first semester and time for the Magic's class' field trips. Charlie was dreading it, but Mabel was kinda excited to skip an entire week of school. The day their class got to leave was, in fact, tomorrow. They would leave at 1:30pm on Sunday and spend the entire week wherever the teacher took them until 1:30pm that Saturday.

That night Charlie called Mabel and they talked while packing for the trip. "I hope we can go to Washington and see the White House!" said Mabel.

"Ms. Walston wouldn't do something that cool" replied Charlie.

"True" Mabel said, sounding a bit deflated.

"I'm sure wherever we go, we can find something interesting" Charlie said, trying to cheer Mabel up.

"Yeah, we'll find something to mess up" Mabel said, chuckling. "We might even end up in another dimension," she added.

Both the girls started laughing. Everywhere they went, they always figured out how to access something either forbidden or forgotten. One time they passed a cemetery near Charlie's house and ended up trying to and being successful at resurrecting a dead dog. Necromancy and bringing back the dead was illegal, so now there's just a zombie dog walking around the forest. Sometimes they even enter dimensions thought to be inaccessible.

After three hours of talking and packing they decided to go to bed. They'd need a lot of energy to deal with Ms. Walston. When Charlie woke up the next morning at 8:00am, her brother, Hunter, a boy with light brown hair and ocean blue eyes, was kicking a ball against her bedroom wall. "Hey! Stop, I'm trying to sleep!" She yelled out the window.

"I don't care!" Hunter yelled back.

Mabel didn't wake up until an hour before they had to go. While struggling into her clothes after eating and brushing her teeth, she noticed that Charlie had been texting her to get up for the past two hours. "She's not gonna be happy about this" she whispered to herself. It was true. Charlie hated to be ignored, whether it be via text or in real life.

Mabel's mom yelled for her to get her stuff together and be ready to leave in ten minutes. She decided to just brush her hair in the car. The two girls met up in front of the bus. "You were ignoring me and you were almost late!" Charlie exclaimed.

"Well, I'm sorry. I like to sleep, okay?" Mabel replied.

"I know, but it's gonna be a problem if you don't at least try to get a routine" Charlie said.
