As Tracey showed Morgan and Nigel around, she informed the two about the circumstances in Denver.

"The base story I could grasp from Flint and myself is that all of humanity has vanished off the face of the Earth. Neither of us understand why we were left behind. All I know was that I woke up first and found Flint in my plane with a dart in his hand. I took it and it's in the home base if you would like to see it."

This news struck Morgan as she thought to herself. Could that be what happened to herself and Nigel? The thought lingered and she listened to Tracey continue her report.

"After we joined forces, Flint explained some good places to set base. He was reading some science fiction novel about the end of the world before this and convinced himself he knew what he was doing. He got the drone in k-mart to work without electricity and has been wiring them to circuit to have surveillance on the entire city."

"What about the storms that Flint was speaking about?"

Tracy shrugged, "They started out small, intense heat which is not really a big difference nowadays with global warming taking its toll on the world. However, once the hail storms started releasing golf ball sized hail, we have been forced to take cover. The last storm that occurred was about two days ago."

"What's this about a plane?" Morgan inquired.

Tracy gave her a sideways glance, "I've been some kind of pilot prodigy and manage to get a hold of a jet at the airport. Flint and I were planning on leaving the United States to somewhere in hopes of safety, but it is taking us a while to prep and transport everything at base here to the plane. The weather hasn't been at all nice either."

"We could help you," Morgan offered, "We can search for survivors."

Tracy gave a cold smile, "There are no survivors elsewhere. Don't you think I've looked? I woke up to my family gone, my fiancé left me to this hell on earth without a single word. Do you know how it feels?"

Her words dripped with venom as her blue eyes pierced Morgan's. Morgan stared back and spoke up, "You're not the only one. My family was gone, every single one of them. Be thankful you did not have to bury your elderly neighbour. Be thankful you didn't have to almost lose your life in a landslide or almost losing your partner in an avalanche to get here. I've lost things too."

Tracy's eyes softened as they stared at the seventeen year old realizing a fraction of what Morgan had truly gone through.

"Alright," Tracy said finally as they rounded the corner, "What is your plan, Morgan?"

Morgan did not have an answer. To be honest, she hadn't even considered what to do after Denver. Thankfully, Nigel came running to her rescue. He was panting.

"Nigel, what's wrong?"

"It's Flint..." Nigel let out, "He has a signal."

Tracy's eyes widened and she takes off with Morgan and Nigel following close behind. Flint was on speaking into a speaker while working a tuner.

"Can you copy?" Flint called into the microphone.

The static reminded Morgan of how she heard Nigel the first time.

"Come to Vancouver," The static voice of a male responded, "I'm in... Airport... Resources. Fuel... What's your earliest ETA?"

"Copy, ETA will be in three days," Flint responded, "Prepare and stay safe."

"Copy that, survivor," the male responded as the line went dead.

Flint grinned to the group, "There's a fifth survivor. His name is Bill Rose. He is in Vancouver. That is our next stop."
